OT: Ballard hits Vokoun with stick. Vokoun taken out on stretcher.

Apparently Ballard swung his stick in frustration and hit Vokoun in the head. Obviously an accident as they are on the same team. Did anyone see this? I just missed it but ESPN is talking about it.

EDIT: found a video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMvne...layer_embedded

Yikes. Ballard must feel like crap. Vokoun was bleeding out of his ear.

Yikes...

reminds me of when that happened to Halak:

I feel horrible for Vokoun and hope he's ok, but the Halak one still cracks me up mainly because of the wtf look at the end.

I didn't see the video you posted; I scrolled to the bottom for quick reply. But yeah, that's my impression of said incident.

Staios smashes his stick practically every second game, maybe this will make him think about it. Call it dumb and immature, but I feel bad for Ballard because I know I've done stupid, stupid **** while angry and then realized what an idiot I was afterwards.

Those Sportsnet guys are the biggest tools for laughing about it. I'm sure Vokoun's family or a Panthers fan would really appreciate that.

Darren Mallard should re-enact what just happened on Kypreos. What a moron. Dumb play by Ballard.

As for what happened, that's insane, and Ballard will have to be disciplined by the team somehow, I don't see how it can be avoided. It doesn't matter, whether there was intention or not, he's responsible.

Anger managment?

Honestly I think he feels bad enough and he'll hear about it for the rest of his career. I'd imagine that he never makes that move again, and that alot of players around the league will follow suit. A meeting with some folks upstairs would probably do the trick, plus alot of sucking up to Vokun.

Thankfully it doesn't sound like the bleeding was internal. Hope he's ok.

Vokoun had an ear laceration and was alert when taken by ambulance to a local hospital, a Panthers spokesman said.
