All of these trade proposals are ridiculous. Howson would rather sit on his hands than take on another teams chewed bubble gum with a bad contract. That's not his style—He's a low-risk type of guy. Keep the proposals simple and cheap. I'm thinking he'll go the waiver route if he has to.

FYI, Mayorov will not be traded for a stop-gap defenseman and Brassard or Voracek will not be packaged with a pick either. Makes no sense for our franchise.

No, 4th round (94th O/A), XLB is still a serviceable D @ 1.4 cap.

If by serviceable you mean "Makes you crap your pants every time he has the puck" than yes, yes he is.

I'm have to chuckle when I recall the ire Sabres fans drew from CBJ fans when offers like "Tallinder for a 3rd" were tendered on these boards. Ah, the good ole days.

I imagine that Dan Girardi could be a realistic option. He would go to Columbus in a comfortable position because he's played a lot with Tyutin in the past. From a Rangers point of view, they probably won't be able to afford to resign him next year anyway and Sanguinetti is playing well enough(relatively) to keep a spot when Redden comes back from injury.

Vancouver has Shane O'Brien and Aaron Rome sitting in the pressbox, although both have proved to be competent bottom-pairing guys this season.

We also have Brad Lukowich in the AHL, but I'm not sure what the waiver procedures would be for a new team to get him up, as he would certainly be claimed on recall.

Meh, he's average is all. Nobody said they were looking for a player to REPLACE Klesla, just pick up some minutes. I think i've been more dissapointed in his aggression thus far. Thought he was a little more tough than what he's shown (didn't see much of him in ATL), and if anything its usually timed pretty badly. But that's why he's avg I guess, and why he's at $1.4 after so long in the league...

i was just hearing a radio show hosted by Darren Dreger in T.O, and he said that Columbus might be looking at Finger for Torres deal, which i know does not make sense for columbus but i am just passing on what i heard. i would think maybe a Finger for Modin instead. Or CBJ could help out Chi by taking Sopel. Just sayin.....

Dale Weise [definitely a Hitchcock type player]

To NYR:
Filatov

Dreger was speculating that TOR-CBJ might swap Raffi Torres for Jeff Finger, which seems about even in my opinion. Though, if I were Howson I'd think I'd have an easier time grabbing Brent Sopel for Torres. It pretty much is the exact kind of deal both teams would be looking for I'd think.

I think Finger would definitely fit Hitchcock's style, and there were a handful of rumours that CBJ was one of the teams bidding for Finger when Toronto signed him, but you'd think a conservative GM like Howson wouldn't be too thrilled about adding that much salary for that many years, whereas Torres will probably be off the books permanently this season.

As a Toronto fan, I like this speculation about Torres a lot, but at the same time I like CBJ a lot and as a fan for them as well I'm cautiously optimistic from their point-of-view. Finger would be a great 5th or 6th guy but thats a lot of dough.

Torres for Rozsival + pick?

Torres toughness would be VERY welcome on the Rangers right now. Rozsival is having a rough year under Torts. He is better suited for a Renney/Hitchcock type system.

Leafs would be taking on ~$5M worth of payroll over 2.75 years. The Blue Jackets would get their defensemen yet shed a ~$1M in payroll and one cap year. The Blackhawks are buying cap space and cap years for their pending TKK re-signings.

Too much $$$$ for Columbus. They can't afford his $6 million salary this season.

I doubt a deal happens. Mathieu Roy has played really well when called up. Howson will let that play through until Klesla gets back.

The draft is only 7 rounds. lol

Please pry Eminger off our hands, he's available and can be had for a 3rd or 4th. If not we'll gladly take any roster player...yes any

I really don't want the Jackets to trade Torres for a bottom pairing dman. Raffi does a lot for this team. He gets dirty and he scores big goals. If Torres is the guy heading out, I'd rather call someone up.
