That's a lot better than what I was thinking last night. I was thinking his season was done. I hope they give him the proper time to recover so he doesn't go down the same path Chimmer did last season. Man, I can't even imagine the amount of pain he was in.

I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Hearing the amount of pain he was in, was just crazy.

Best wishes to Rusty, and to hoping he has a speedy and complete recovery.

Whew! I thought for sure he was done for the year the way he was screaming and down after the hit. It sucks to lose him for that long but I too thought it was going to be much worse.

Blues fan here. Yeah, yeah....I know.....

I actually like The Blue Jackets a lot and am sad about Klesla's injury. The hit didn't seem like much, but that scream spoke otherwise.

Let's hope he recovers well.

In retrospect, this is actually good news. I thought for sure that this was a problem with his knee and he was going to be gone for 4 to 6 months.

I'm sure it still hurts like hell though....

Rest up Rusty and come back at 100%.

I think 6 weeks is probably optomistic...groins are tricky injuries to recover from.

I was at the game and actually don't remember hearing him scream, but when you see a guy who is wiggling his legs uncontrollably in pain and seems content to lay on the ice as opposed to trying to get up, you know it's bad.

Was Rusty on the radar for the Olympics?

I think 4-6 weeks is tremendously optimistic. Lower body strains and tears always seem to take longer to get back to game shape. I suspect we don't see Rusty back anytime before the Olympics are done.

I have to think that 4-6 weeks is not realistic adding the torn stomach muscle

At least the injury wasn't to his face.

Get well soon Rusty.

Get well soon, Klesla.

Bad, bad news. Also, the pain following torn groin and stomach muscle must be hard to stand.

4-6 weeks does sound a bit optimistic. I guess they heal faster than me, but come on..that sounds like a couple of months at least. If it was me, probably a year or two..

It probably will take longer to recover from that.

4-6 weeks definitely sounds like an optimistic guesstimate on his return. I knew a guy who had an abdominal tear a few years back, and he couldn't lift his leg without almost coming to tears for months.

Truly an agonizing injury.

EDIT: By the way, loving the Wario Lemieux...that's a classic photo!

My thoughts as well. I'd say at least 8 weeks until he's back.

Was Rusty thought to make the Czech Olympic squad? I'd imagine this nullifies any chance he would have.

Rusty to have surgery per Puckrakers.

I am glad they are going thiss option, no messing around like with Chimmer. I think he comes back right after the olympic break.

Gold.

Well, given the circumstances.

If he has to have surgery on both, i'd have to say that pretty much scraps this season for him. That will take some serious recovery time and if he's out for a long time, he'll never get back to game shape by the end of the season. Start working the phone Howson, you've got yourself the top prospect in the NHL that your coach cant coach, might as well see what worth he's got.

While I agree with you that Klesla's season may very well be done, does that really make it time to start selling up the river to build a team for a season in which they will be middle of the pack?
