I know we all agree ducks fans fall under three categories, oblivious about hockey, bandwagon, or stupid. Reading there board proves that maybe its two out of three instead of just one.

Call us bandwagon fans has made me speechless.

I disagree, they have good and bad fans just like We do or any other team in the league. For every bad post over there there is an equally bad one here or on the other 28 team's boards.

You also might want to correct "there" to "their". It doesn't look too good when You call people stupid and then make a second grade spelling error.

Jumping on a bandwagon of crappy hockey for the last 8 years LOL. At least we will admit to it, while there is a guy on the Ducks board saying that the Ducks are still better than Kings right now... But then again they've won a cup.

Yeppers.

The bad ones generally show up after a loss to have a whine session. Overall, I think our board's pretty level headed.

Maybe it is me reading way too much into it but it just seems like they never want to give the Kings credit for anything even when they do something right. The compliment always is a backhanded one. That is something Bob Miller will always do. He'll be honest about wanting the Kings to do well but he acknowledges when they play bad. He gives credit to the other team when credit is due.

Last night, I can't help but laugh when they make those comments about having to finish last to get players like Doughty and Johnson. First of all, no **** Sherlock (about first round picks). Secondly, Johnson came from a trade of two decent players (Gleason actually a pretty good player) which caused the team to take a step in the wrong direction for a few years. That was a sacrifice the GM made for the future that were just starting to get the benefits of (3 seasons later). It wasn't the team tanking that got Johnson. Then how about mentioning the Jonathan Quick's, the Wayne Simmonds', the Davis Drewiske's who were all picked (or not picked) in the second round or later (and who gives a **** if it was DL or DT, just the acknowledge the team has good young players in general)? Or how about the highest paid player on the team, the guy coming into his own this season who was picked 11th overall in a blackhole season. Nope lets focus on getting Drew Doughty 2nd overall (the only top 5 pick the Kings actually drafted and is playing on the team currently) who the Kings got for having an abysmal season. When Bobby Ryan is dancing circles around Peter Harrold for his hat trick last year, is Bob Miller busy explaining that Brian Burke must have ******** Gary Bettman in the lockout year to get that high up in the draft lottery?

The *****ing about that Stoll slashing non-call was just absurd. Stoll was facing the puck on the boards and put his stick down to play it. What does he have to use measured amount of force to play the puck? Does Hayward need a copy of the rule book? Just because a players stick breaks doesn't mean it was a slash.

The one where Stoll ran into the goalie, that I do agree could've been a penalty. But the apologizing for the lackluster play by their team by both the fans and the announcers is just ridiculous. Give me a break. The Ducks WERE a good team. The still can be good. But last night they were not the better team and were quite lucky that Quick let them back in it.

EDIT: Also, don't forget two of the Kings top palyers were missing last night. Something that I'm sure Hayward and Ahlers would be making excuses for the Ducks if that were the case.

The best of all from last nights game was that stupid ass graphic they did showing the "freeway faceoff" series. 07/08 ducks win 6-2. Then they show 08/09, with a whole explanation on the screen saying "Kings narrowly win due to overtime point". pathetic. Give the team some god damn credit. I have not once heard Bob or Jim be biased. Obviously they're kings fans and they want their boys to win, but they are never hesitant to point out the kings flaws and give praise to the opposing team when they do something good.

Yeah another thing that I kept thinking about. They were all over the fact that the Kings players ended up on Hiller multiple times. Most of which happened because a Ducks player forced them there (with the exception of that time with Stoll that I remember). Yet the king of running over goalies is Corey Perry (forced or not). I was happy to see Hiller being run over. The Kings were kinda taking their game and shoving it down their throats.

I'd love to see Wayne Simmonds rip Corey Perry's head off.

Jim Fox is basically a gigantic homer at this point. Obviously, he played for LA and has been a part of this organization for years so it's not unexpected but he is a cheerleader up there a lot of the time.

He was a super homer when he started, then he calmed down until this team hit rock bottom of the re-build a few years ago to the point where he is now working his way back to super homer status again. He isn't disparaging to other players/teams as much as he overblows the quality of plays the Kings make and his patented "Woah" that he drops after shootout goals and such. He's become more of a fan over the past few years since, well, he probably felt the only people watching were other super homers.

I can't ever forget during Fox's first year the Kings were in Chicago and I believe Chychrun fought Grimson. Anyways, Chychrun winds up knocking Grimson down and Fox lets out a giant "YESSSSSSSSSSS". So solid.

I think Ahlers calls a good game save for the "ladies tees" line. Hayward is just a smug homer so, if you hate the Ducks as much as we do you are going to hate him. It WAS a penalty on Stoll since it was slashing. I hate how when you break a stick it's an automatic call now but, if they are going to call the one on R2 then you have to call that one as well. They made up for it though with the call on Simmonds and more than made up for it with the late call on Johnson.

Did you notice when they talked about how good some of the Kings young players are, one of them had to get in the "well, when you finish as low as the Kings have over the last few years, you get these high draft picks." Like hockey fans don't know that.

Listening to the Ducks announcers is more painful than I remember - and it's only been several months.

The Kopitar bowling over Hiller was great too, like they didn't see the Ducks Dman push Kopitar into Hiller.

What was the announced crowd, 14500 or something? On tv, it looked much smaller than that.
I noticed every one of those errors as I was watching the game. I rewinded and re-watched them all to verify how f-ing stupid those comments were, and I agree with you 100%.

They also failed to mention that they LUCKED OUT by getting the 2nd pick in a draft Lottery after the lock-out year and ended up with Bobby Ryan.

ahlers does not call a good game, he's just as terrible as hayward. and i disagree with your opinion on the stoll "slash".

Look, I don't like how you can't be strong on the stick anymore because these sticks snap in half but they have been calling the Stoll play a penalty for over a season now. Used to be called good defense but now it is a penalty.

This place would have gone ape-**** if the Kings were on a PK and Getzlaf made that same play against a Kings penalty killer and it wasn't called.

Ahlers is better than their original guy is what I am saying, the guy with the "they crack the code" line when the Ducks entered the offensive zone. I hate them as well but they are far from the worst duo in the league and they aren't even the biggest homers (Louie DeBrusk anybody???) but they just happen to be the broadcast duo of LA's biggest rival and they (Hayward) aren't as "professional" as Bob and Jim so we tear them apart every chance we get.

It doesn't change the fact that Jim Fox is a homer, albeit it a classy one, and that Bob has trouble with calling the right players name in some buildings. These are valid comments made by fans of other teams and it's mostly younger posters who haven't listened to Bob for as many years as we have. Chick lost a step as time wore on and Bob, in my opinion, has had more problems with calling the wrong name himself as time has gone on. Still love the guy and think they do a great broadcast but many of the posters here have a blind love affair with them and can't fathom that they make mistakes.

Before anyone throws the HHOF in my face, just know that the HHOF has been used to justify Helen Elliot columns on this board and it didn't mean jack **** in her case.

i have no problem with calling ahlers and hayward the worst duo in the NHL when they play the kings. i hate whining about them because it makes us look like children but they are absolutely unlistenable at times.

i have no problem with you calling fox a homer bc he is and bob is definitely on the decline, i'd say in even the last 3 years. but this year he seems to have taken a big step back and it's kinda sad to see/hear but he's had an awesome career.

in the end it comes down to listen-ability for me and sure i have a soft spot for our guys but the blatant and rampant bs and crap that are spewed from the other guys mouths during the course of a kings/ducks broadcast is horrific. i'm almost starting to believe that they do it on purpose. it's a bit easier to stomach right now though considering the positions of the teams in the division.

I hate them too man but I know that, if they weren't pumping the Ducks, I couldn't call them the worst duo.

Nashville games are tough for me to listen to and the Blues games used to be like listening to paint dry. For me though, that game last week against Edmonton was the most homerific broadcast I've ever heard and it will be hard to top.

As for Bob and Jim, I don't want to give the impression that I dislike them because I love them since they are my homers. If I hated the Kings though I'd want to strangle Fox every time he goes "Woah!!" on a routine goal.

actually, you're right. that was one of the hardest broadcasts ever to endure, it didn't help that the crowd and atmospher was almost nonexistent even though there were "fans" in the chairs.

i can handle boring but wanting to get out of your chair and throw your remote through the tv when your team is winning is an entirely differently feeling.
