Anyone think this is in poor taste?

http://www.torontosun.com/sports/200.../12001281.html

This the Toronto Sun title on a leafs article after last night's win

"A heartfelt victory"
MacDonald completes shutout after Monster hospitalized

I think this is in poor taste considering the fact that a player was hospitalized from the leafs. The sun could have gone with any other title for the article. I dont think a newspaper should be publishing titles like this to sell papers.

Your thoughs?

Its not that bad. It tells a good summary of what happened in the game.

Not surprised at all. Though I read the Sun, I've always noticed the complete lack of class they have.

Old notables:

The callous "Di Dead" headline after Princess Diana had died.

How they love to stick a camera in the face of someone grieving: I'll never forget the picture on the front cover of the Ottawa Sun of the 12 year old boy bawling his eyes out as he had just witnessed his brother drown in the river. How low a ******* are you if you start snapping pictures of this kid. Then put it on the front page.

On a milder, sports note, it was hilarious reading Don Brennan ripping Heatley this morning. The same Brennan who was WAY over the line in going after Heatley this summer. How does a guy rip someone so personally, and rip his father too stand next to the guy in the dressing room like nothing has gone on? I guess that's part of the lizard soul of some reporters. Not that Heatley isn't a jerk who deserves criticism, but you don't usually see columnists go after someone as personally and unprofessionally as Brennan does. What a complete and utter tool.

If only the Sun wasn't 25 cents and just the right length to read on my 25 minute bus ride to work I might stop reading.

Very poor taste. But what do you expect from a trashy newpaper? The best use of the Toronto Sun is to start a fire.

Its not horrible, then again it all depends on the context they were using 'heartfelt'

Personally i think they were being sincere.

On the web site they changed the title to "Agony and ecstasy" with a time stamp of 3 minutes after "A heartfelt victory".

Has that xenophobe don cherry joined this Board under an assumed name?

Most of us would appreciate the maturity and compassion of the Swedish system.

Why? Sweden is rated higher (23) than Canada (30)

I have no issue with it, it was heartfelt. And if you do happen to have an issue with it just remember it is the Sun.

I don't get why people are upset about the headline. Maybe if the Monster pulled a Cherepanov I would say it was in poor taste, but it probably was a heartfelt victory for the Leafs. Get over it you uber sensitive babies. Some people try way to hard to be offended.

The Toronto Sun is a rag that I wouldn't line my bird cage or kitty litter with. What do you expect from this piece of crap. No surprise here. Could have been worse...could have read "Gustavsonn didn't have the heart to finish the game". I hope Jonas is well and I hope he is not rushed back. All the best Jonas.

I'm not really surprised. Sports media has a habit of making really stupid headlines for their stories and this one is no different.

It's ridiculous. You can't say anything without offending someone these days. The people who call Don Cherry an xenophobe boil my blood. Sure, he's not a huge fan of the French or some Europeans - who cares? He's a damn patriot and he'll always support our troops - something this country needs. Instead of consistently ripping him to shreds over his flawed logic (yeah, he is getting older) why don't you just turn off the TV once he comes on?

And this whole "heartfelt" thing is way too overblown. Can't say anything anymore.
