Very impressive. Even with these big contracts, Chicago still looks to have enough depth in their system to replace some other medium-sized contracts. Still can't get over the fact that Keith was picked 54th overall.

In terms of the guys who are most replaceable, who is traded away? I.e., Skille can replace Versteeg, etc.. Would any deals be done before the deadline?

It was that you'd probably have to dump Sharp or Versteeg or more to make room for them. Which still stands
How can you dump a player such as Patrick Sharp?

I really don't get those Sharp trades, sorry, dump ideas. He's one of Toews best friend in the club, he's got an ŤAť and he may be in for Team Canada at the Olympics, at 3,9M.

I really don't get it.

What's with all the blackhawk fans thinking they are going to win every cup in the next 5years now? Already calling themselves a dynasty...

You're referring to huetforveznia and hawksdynasti. I think the usernames imply a little bit about the posters' mental capacities.

The deals sound good. I am wondering how we suddenly got enough tagging room. Maybe a trade is imminent?

TSN says its true so its true

the reason they held up on making it official is they wanted to do it while they were at home to get more atention

Horrible cap managment I'm sorry. I realize that Kane, Toews and Keith are all huge foundations with this club... but this is just rediculous.

Cue all the Byfuglien, Sharp, Versteeg, Barker, Campbell, Sopel, Bolland, Ladd + rumours.
Didn't Calgary win a game last year with 16 players? Who needs depth?

How many times are you gonna say, "love it" or "loving this" in one thread?

I'm interested to see how things are gonna work themselves out in Chicago. They've signed some very good players for an extended period of time but the cap is going to be an issue now.

No, the question was who are you going to have to trade to keep these three.

And it's still front and center.

Sharp will not be moved unless it is for a younger, top six projected player, Seabrook will not doubt get the same deal Keith gets when his contract is set to expire.

The pickings will be;

Versteeg- who I doubt would be as impactful on another team
Buff
Sopel- who might be headed to Toronto by the end of the day
Barker- who also might be out the door.

In a totally unrelated piece of news: Sopel seams to have gone missing on the way back to Chicago.

why do you think Versteeg will be less impactful on another team?

Chicago will figure it out, I'm sure they have more accountants than this board does.

You do realize between Campbell, Sharp, Toews, Kane, Hossa, Seabrook Keith... SEVEN players... your have more than 38 mil... 68% of the cap space... and that is assuming the cap DOESN'T DROP.

Your going to have to move a lot more than those four.

Because of the freedom the system the Hawk's run provides its players offensively.

Exaggerate much? I see to recall most posters saying they would have to get rid of secondary guys with larger contracts to fit them in salary wise....

Good signings for the Hawks but Kane and Toews got more per year than I thought they would get if Dreger's 6.3 per season is correct..

Nope. These deals start next year - their cap hits for this year are still the same.

They definitely have to move salary before next year, though.
