You're looking golden imo, i've been saying on here that Toronto is better than people think especially since Kessel joined them, aren't they like 7-5 since Kessel's return?

I wish Horcoff was Russian, that way he could just **** off back to Russia and get his 5.5M in rubles.

Rosie Odonnell is probably a better bang for your buck.

We can take on a horrendous contract for the remainder of the year since Hemsky is out (i've been thinking of starting a thread but someone else should). It would be a mistake not to take advantage of the cap space; we should be a relief valve for a contender. Send a contending team a good player for a crap player with a giant cap hit, who is UFA status next season, and another first rounder. Hell, sit Kabby out an extra 20-30 games after he's healthy for precautionary reasons. Give him a good long rest. Bulin will get this team into the final playoff slot if he comes back.
Despite the annoying bolding, you have a point. Tambo should shop around some of his cap space and find a negative value player with one year left on his contract and either bring in a good prospect along, or use the leverage to ship out Horcoff.

It all doesn't add up. There must be a bug over at Desjardins.

Give some votes to the Oil! We're currently in 13th. Fans, tweet out "@johntmeyer pick the #Oilers" #pickmynhlteam"

It's cute. They still think they're in 13th.

The new bug is called Rel Cor...or relative Corsi.

If you're better at driving possession than your lame team mates, you're a star.

Are we witnessing the worst edition of the Oilers ever? Has this team ever been this low?

I heard Relative Corsi is going to be replaced by Absolutely Relative Corsi soon. If it hasn't been already and we didn't notice.

Still waiting for the NHL to officially announce a new trophy named after Desjardins for the next award ceremony.

Meh, this team is what it is, bad. That will hopefully mean, despite the tough season, a very high pick and a potential start player.

That makes sense.

Rel Cor is one of the only stats that shine positively on Horcoff so that proves its legitimacy.

For me the answer is yes because this is the most incompetent the org has ever been.

In the 90's we had the salary excuse. Now we have a maxed salary cap and still can't compete.

The only bet I'm in danger of losing at this point is who wins the division.

I picked Vancouver.

Not moving is also a choice.

Can you imagine if we're still in 15th place at the end of the year?

I also agree with this. If we can't get teams to take our contracts, we'll take theirs...for their 1st rounder! Not bad...

Is Malakov still playing? Who would fit into this category?

Horcoff was a stretch at 5.5 when it was announced. Gilbert at 4 mill? He was already starting to lead the soft parade. Staios, Moreau, and Pisani. These were deals that were too big and too long. If you want to pay those three that much, then you minimize the length but the Oilers were feeling extremely generous apparently. Imagine the cap savings or the players we could get with the money saved from those 5 players. Penner is earning his pay this year so he's not on the list.
