Saves on the daily cap hit with nearly a full week between games. Also keeps Bobby playing in the 'A' during the layoff.

Tortorella wants Ales Kotalik to "jam" it to him, says the team needs his scoring. The RW will be back on the power play point.

Could we please use someone other then one of the most hated Devils of all times to compare to...like say, that guy Brian Leetch, or maybe Ron Greschner....just saying.

I didnt hate Neidermayer, ever. I thought he was awesome and was jealous the Devils had him.

Brodeur and Stevens are another story.

Everyday Sanguinetti is on the roster,he burns cap space. The Rangers have a policy of only carrying 6 defenseman on their cap

Some of the guys around here weren't born to have seen Leetch in his prime. Forget about Gresch.

Niedermayer wasn't a hated Devil. Stevens. Lemieux. Yes to both.

Niedermayer is a great player even at his current age.

For gosh sakes, the point regarding Heikkinen is that he is better defensively and he has a bigger shot from the point. He is no Scott Neidermeyer, nor has been off the charts tremendous.

And as respects, getting into games in Hartford, the Wolf Pack haven't played all week and don't play until tomorrow night.

Dubinsky needs to be placed retro-actively on LTIR.

Sanguinetti should be brought up.

Sorry.

So I'd guess the lines would be:

Prospal-Anisimov-Gaborik
Avery-Drury-Callahan
Higgins-Christensen-Kotalik
Brashear-Boyle-Voros

With Lisin sitting again, or replacing Voros.

I can live with those lines, I guess. No choice really.

I'm eager to see how Anisimov looks centering our offense. I fear though that he'll be removed too early in the game if he doesn't immediately click with the two. Torts has a quick trigger finger when it comes to shuffling the lines.

Also, I agree, the call up should be Sanguinetti.

What's the most likely? Brashear or Dubi on IR? Voros waived? Parenteau sent down?

Dubinsky on LTIR. If done retroactively he'd be eligible to come off anytime after the Buffalo game, I believe.

Look, I don't watcht the Pack so I am no authority, but the logic I have been reading is that Heikkinen is solid in his own end. We are actually fine with the puck movement on D, our weakness is coverage and on the defensive side. If Heikkinen is the best defensive defenseman outside of New York, then he should get the look in my opinion. We have plenty of rookie offensive defenseman that can pass the puck. This is hardly an open and shut case.

Because of the waiver pickup of Christensen they are out of cap money. Andrew Gross thinks that maybe boyle or Voros will be waived. Boyle makes 500,000 and voros 900,000

Both of them dosen't have any significant impact on the team, so out of the two, I'd like Voros gone.

I hate Niedermayer, but will always be grateful to him for taking Tikkanen's bait and getting a roughing call 3rd period game 6 in 1994 that led to the 4 on 4 play which the Rangers scored the GWG

Well said.

Sanguinetti was basically tripping over himself in his own zone in his last game. We need a responsible defenseman. Is Heikkenen the answer? I dont know. But Id be very open trying something other than Sangs.

If the Rangers waive a player, they have to do it by noon tomorrow to call someone up Saturday. This is the reason that I wrote in my blog last night that the call-up of Johnson was not yet official. They could not call him up until Vali had cleared.

This is somewhat off topic, but it was scary to me how many sources "in authority" had said that Johnson was recalled, when it just was not possible under the rules. Including the NHL Network. I saw it on the ticker last night at about 10:30.

This was definitely the case of everyone jumping on the bandwagon without checking it out. Rant over. Sorry guys, but you all should be aware that some of the stuff you see (even from some top sources) is just not true.

A lot of us said prior to the season that AA would be centering Gaborik before long. Here we go...
