He has been doing 'light" excercises, but that does not really keep you in game shape. I think he's about 75 days away at least.

Idk about 75 days, I'd say 45 days personally. Concussions are difficult to predict. If you're just starting light exercises, assuming everything goes perfectly smoothly from this point on, it's going to take him at least 25 days to even be ready to get back in the lineup.

It all depends on whether he tolerates the increased activity level without any neurologic symptoms.

There are no guarantees.

I don't think anyone can really make any kind of informed estimate on Booth due to the very fact that concussions are very unpredictable.

Exactly. Truth is, we don't know. He'll be back when he's back.

Booth isn't doing anything. We've recently heard that he was told not to do anything. He's not going to be back until February probably. I'd honestly be surprised if he comes back at all this season. If he does, it'll be way late in the season.

At this point you gotta think his only chance is after the Olympic break. Too bad..coming off a break out year...pumped to step it up this year and one split second boom he's gone.

It is a terrible shame. What's good is that he came back from a breakout year playing well. Hopefully, when he does return, he'll do so without fear (hard to believe that's going to happen) and will make an immediate impact.

He also said a few days ago that they hope Stillman is back in the "coming weeks".

That's encouraging.

If Booth can make it back (and I think he will - eventually), he will be extremely pissed off about missing the 2010 Olympics because of Richards' dirty hit. While, sadly, I think 2008-9 will be a wash, I think he will be primed for a big 2010-11. You know he will have a big chip on his shoulder.

I hope Booth comes back quickly but I would guess he is out for another few weeks and if he is ready to come back right before the Olympics they might hold him out just to ensure his health.

Nothing is impossible, but I highly, highly doubt that Booth will be ready for the Olympics. He may be playing by then, but I doubt it will be at the level which we're accustomed to.

I'd say from that 2nd intermission interview Booth is on his way to a recovery and probably playing in January.

So, with Stiller set to come back on Sunday, who sits? I mean, this is the chronic question and it hasn't hurt us as we move guys in and out, but I don't want some of these kids to sit in favor of guys like Kreps and even Soup. Soupy's been physical at least, but Oreskovich has provided more in that department, imo. What happened when McArdle comes back?

Good problems, I guess, but we did well around the same time last season with guys injured and the kids playing well and we came up short. The kids have proven themselves more than some of the vets on this team.

Taffe probably stays down in Rochester. I would think Mac and Duco go down with Repik coming back up.

Frolik Weiss Horton
Stillman Reino Repik
Olesz Moore Dvorak
Soup Kreps Oreskovich

Is what I would like to see but I doubt Repik gets a spot on the second line.

Would rather see Matthias stay more than Kreps. Then it's between Matthias, Soup, and McArdle for who stays when McA is ready.

What shocked me was Booth said the most he has ever taken off of hockey in his life is 2 weeks at a time. After the hit, he was off for 7-8 weeks. You have to wonder how that will affect him not only on the concussion side of things ,but everything else that goes into being a high performance athlete. And remember, this injury is one that is physical and mentally crushing more than any other type of sports injury.

What about when Booth comes back?? I think Kreps,Soupy, and Olesz are expendable. I like what Oreskovich,Mcardle,Repik, and Matthias bring to the team (as well as MacIntyre)

Frolik-Weiss-Horton
Booth-Reino-Stillman
Repik-Moore-Dvorak
Mcardle-Matthias-Oreskovich (MacIntyre scratched except for tough teams, or if he beats out someone else for a spot)

I actually wonder about not re-signing Moore (if he's not already signed for more than this year,I forgot) and let Matthias get that #3 center and put Mcardle as center on 4th line to give us a MacIntyre-Mcardle-Oreskovich line. I like what Moore brings to the team, with leadership and all but from what I am hearing, Horton seemed very excited to have MacIntyre in the lineup against Philly last night, and I think that if Mac helps bring confidence to our top scorers, then I think we can fit this guy into the lineup.

The kids are going to get shafted when the vets come back, you know they will. I don't want it to happen, but it will. What I expect to see:

Frolik-Weiss-Horton
Stillman-Reino-Dvorak
Campbell-Moore-Olesz
Kreps-Matthias-Oreskovich

They might even send Matthias/O down and put Tarnasky in when he's recalled sometime this week. When Booth comes back, I definitely expect to see Matthias/O sent down. Hoping I'm wrong though.

And what do you do with Olesz? tell me. You bench him? Not going to happen, no chance

Fit Macintyre in the lineup? Once again... NO CHANCE

Even against the flyers, he only got 2 or 3 shifts. This player is a big LOL

Macintyre cannot play hockey in the NHL! I'm sick of reading about him! He's probably the most overrated player by the fans ***SIGH***

You're tired of hearing about it? This is a message board, he's part of the team, limited or not. He's overrated...at all? Especially the MOST overrated? How? He's a 4th liner at best who can throw with the best of them, and likely isn't the right fit for this team. However, we still need a regular shifted enforcer who can keep up, don't fool yourself into thinking Weiss and Horton weren't being 100% honest when they talked about how much it meant having he and Duco up, was written all over their faces.

He only got one or two shifts due to the massive amount of penalties early and Cote not playing much. No one's overrating him, that's ridiculous.
