Don't get it.

I like Jones, but seriously, what exactly has he shown in MIL?

it sounds like he's been better, and it couldn't be less than what Santorelli has shown here.

Fair point. Plus Scatchard is hurt.

Good to hear. I want to see what he can do with another shot.

Scatch is hurt? When did that happen?

That hasn't stopped them from turning Alex Sulzer into a human ping-pong ball.

Since I'm guessing you're implying Wilson should have been called up instead...can you justify that statement?

If anything, I probably would have called up O'Reilly, but I have no problem with it being Jones--his game is the most suitable for the vacancy we have.

Not at all, I think Wilson is still "dealing" with his injury. They have to make sure it will hold up before they call him back up. I just think other players have had better showing.

Jones has shown that he didn't like being sent down..... by being a baby. Now, I'd guess, he will be trying out for the Canes' scouts this weekend... or the Leafs.

ha.........this is what I wondered also.

Wilson-- one of the comments on short shifts blog said Wilson was being a little bit of a baby also.....don't know. But I do know that it is unusual that Trotz commented on Wilson in the fishwrap---------vaguely something along the lines of Wilson said he wouldn't be in Milwaukee much at the beginning of the season, and Trotz saying Wilson might be underestimating the level of competition there.

And Sulzer......he's better off playing some in Milwaukee this year and being ping ponged than being like Klein during his year of being on the bench most of the year.

Didn't Admirals fans also despise Ryan Suter for some reason?

Wilson is not in the Admirals line-up tonight. I heard he has gone to see some specialist about his groin. He has been playing injured all season. My guess is without the injury, he would still be in Nashville. What was said at the begtinning of the season....not sure. But this explains alot!

(Where are the baby comments anyway on Wilson? I don't see those anywhere in the short shifts blog, but maybe I missed them? Edit: Now I see that you said "in the comments".)

Edit: Now I see the trotz comments in the Tennessean.

"Trotz said he was surprised to read Wilson's comment in which the 2008 first-round pick said that if he played up to his capabilities in Milwaukee, he wouldn't be down there for long.

"I sort of cringed at the statement, 'if I go down there and play my game, I'll be right back.' Well, he doesn't really decide that. His play decides that … That's a little on the arrogant side for a young guy," Trotz said.
"

Uh, Barry, it sounds as if Colin specifically said his play would decide. He's showing some confidence.

I would have thought the Predators would have had the best specialists see him, while he was in Nashville.

I'm wondering where this issue came from? Did he have issues in college or did it just start in camp?

Can you back this up with examples? The only person who tried this stunt on the Short Shifts board cited "whining" to refs on blatantly missed calls.

Because frankly, unless you're in the dressing room or are friends with Ryan, I fail to see how you can actually give an accurate assessment of his reaction of the send-down.

Nice to see him trying to block a couple shots at the end of the game last night... now if he could actually get the puck to get blocked by his body, it'd be even better.

With the discussion of O’Reilly’s waiver status, I just noticed that Jones’ next game with the Preds will be his 60th. If I understand it correctly, players who sign their first NHL contract at age 23 or 24 become waiver eligible immediately after they play 60 NHL games. Is that correct? Since Jones signed his first NHL contract with Minnesota in 2008 and he was born in 1984, does that mean he will no longer be waiver exempt after the Columbus game and will have to clear waivers if the Preds should want to send him back to Milwaukee? If so, that might wrap up a roster spot for him with the Preds. Especially, when combined with his one way contract. If that is not correct, can someone explain how it is not correct? Thanks.

He played well last night. I hope he keeps it up.

Very good catch. It will be interesting to see what they do with him if he struggles.
