Don't let Howard's gifts make you think this team has turned the corner. We played well, but the goals were presents.

I believe I said, in an in-direct way that Nilsson would be a factor in this game.

Well, if the feed is always as choppy as it was near the end of the game, that just may happen.

I like O'Sullivan, but one good goal, one lucky one, and the league worst shooting percentage??

You might want to hold off on the O'Sullivan for Hart tshirts.

Gagner was absolutely awful tonight. I was watching him the entire game and even tried to cut him some slack because of his opponents, but he truly was horrific in nearly every aspect of the game tonight. He is incredibly slow and gets lost on most of his assignments. I really thought he was especially brutal tonight. So.....in short, I just disagree with you.

Good to see the Oilers play like a TEAM again although the Wings were pretty brutal which helped..... I don't think this means much in the long run but it's good to finally get a regulation win against the Wings.

Oilers finally played a team that is more banged up than they are. I cannot beleive the list of injured Wings. Nice break to get them on the schedule now, and it never hurts to have that AHL goalie playing for Detroit.

Anyhow, only saw the third period, but it looked like the Slickers played pretty well, or make that, well enough to win. And we haven't seen that around here for a while. While I'll give the Oilers credit for their play, I didn't think the Wings played very Winglike at all, and I had trouble recognizing a bunch of their guys.

You didn't expect the Oil to lose all the REST of their games did you? They are going to win the odd one here and there despite their obvious shortcomings. I just hope it isn't too many otherwise it ****s up the master plan of drafting top 3.

The fourth line of Storts, Stone and Nilsson looked awesome and need to be locked up. Tambo, quickly, sign these guys to extensions before we lose them all!

Wonder if they are tired. They've played a lot of hockey over the last few years and arent spring chickens anymore. They sure dont look as good as they have in the past.

Question: Would the hockey world implode if the Wings "Missed the Playoffs"?

It's funny, when the Oilers win, it's always the other team that's dreadful but when the Oilers lose, it's because the other team earned it. Hmmm
I do agree that the Wings looked bad but the Oilers also played well

The guy has also hit half a dozen goal posts. Theres good luck and bad luck. Penner has scored a few goals that have bounced in off him this year.

Sully was due for a break. Had a lot of composure on the second goal faking the shot and holding. Howard is **** but he faked him out good on that one.

I've said all along Sully can hit for 20 goals. Could happen still.

He got burned on the Wings' goal for sure, but they all looked pretty bad on that one. (Wtf was Strudwick doing there?) I dunno, I know he didn't strip Zetterberg of the puck or anything, but keeping that line off the scoresheet was good enough for me. I've been hating watching Gagner go up against top lines lately, so I thought tonight was at least an improvement.

I think they look up in the stands and the collapsed Detroit economy and wonder who they are playing for.

Oh, announced attendance tonight:

18018

um......

Of Course Oilers beat the wings.. the excuses roll out to why the wings lost.

Had the score been reversed it woulda been slobbering all over the wings for being the team to emulate.....

They are professional hockey players. They are playing for their paycheques.

The Oilers skated real well tonight and the Wings had trouble getting set up for much of anything.

Oilers set the intensity level in the first period and brought a decent road game.

Detroit looked like the Oilers of the last 2 weeks. Just bad, soft plays at bad times in the game, and then no will to bother to even try and come back in the game. No wonder Detroit seats were so empty.

For the Oilers they played solid. Hitters were hitting, skaters were skating and secondary scoring pulled through. They played Detroit very "in your face" in the first period and it looked like Detroit wanted nothing to do with that. Jacques was all over that defense in the first. JDD had a good bounce back game.
