I mean, this guy was untouchable a year back but this year has shown that his systems play is not infallible, and he has issues with player motivation like every other coach.
I think Detroit is suffering from poor development. Sounds kind of stupid but a lot of their players-the new replacements, seem like the type that would ace the AHL but have trouble with the big boys. Detroit's been emphasizing on "building" upon their veteran core and relying on the same people to the point where it probably is hindering their "rookies". Now the same "old people" either hit UFA, Retired or declining.

Their goaltending can't bail them out either.

No. We still need a star and we know no one will sign here for "free", might as well draft one.

It's outside of your, and everyone else's, control. Might as well just roll along with the good times and the bad. Unless someone is ready to stage a coup of the Oiler head office, of course.

I know. Just saying. The team will still be perennial, 9-12 WC'rs, 8th at best at this rate. They need "that" player to take them ala Stamkos.

I'm beginning to think Brule has better offensive instincts than Hemsky does. He just looks like he's able to do something with the puck everytime he's in the offensive zone that doesn't involve circling behind the net. When you watch the really good players like Toews or Savard play, you get the same kind of feeling. I'm not saying he's as good as those players, but it's refreshing to see that kind of hockey sense in a player.

Exactly. The Wings need a total rebuild.

I don't disagree. But that's ultimately up to Tambs and company. I don't exactly have the utmost faith and trust in Tambs (and co.), as he has yet to do anything to earn any of it, but you can really only hope things turn out in the end.

Or if things get bad enough, riot on the streets.

He looks fantastic out there, in all situations and zones. Pretty amazing turn around from the last three years. Which is why I get a kick out of people putting Gagner down when he had a hell of a much better first three pro years than Brule.

The Wings need to get their injured players back.

They're no longer the class of the conference but the players they are missing are significant.

Isn't that what many have said about Hemsky though: all world hockey talent, dumbass hockey sense? Brule does seem to try to do at least something with the puck when he has it.

No Hemsky, Grebs, or Khabi, pretty significant players for this team, but they played well despite that.

Horcoff is awesome. He needs to be playing on the first line. Please Pat Quinn, please reward Horcoff for his awesomeness. Please?

Come on, have you seen their injury list? If everyone's healthy, maybe they're not the power house of the last few years, but they're nowhere near as bad as us. (Their goaltending might be ... )

Lidstrom isn't that good of a player anymore.

seriously, what is the point.

You know, I want to like you, I want to agree with you on many points. You are right about a lot of things. However, what is your point on the planet earth. Just to knock the oilers at every turn? I don't get it, I really don't get what you bring to anything?

Do you think the Wings were great and Howard was adequate?

I woulnd't go that far, but I really see a new player in Brule, I see a guy with lots of hockey sense. he was drafted 6th over all for a reason. would be nice if he could keep it up.

Also gagner is a keeper, So many people don't see just how smart he is out there. We all forget he is just 20.
