oh no, poll and title are coming. I didn't have the inspiration when i put up the first part. It happens sometimes. I honestly am still not sure when i'm going with yet, and I am adding my poll right now.

I think it's only a matter of time, now with that expo being something the city is chasing I would think that building the arena/multi-plex/conference center would be used with the expo.

Also with Quebec getting all sorts of government funding and they don't even have a team how don't we get the funds?

My question is any updates on the promised practice facility at the Uni?

I remember something along the lines of Katz saying it would be world class and athletes around the world would come to train here not just for hockey but even Olympic Sports.

I personally think that's what should be started first to be honest. But that's me. Some of us haven't forgotten that promise Katz...

Dont know about the arena but a snow shoveling induced heart attack is a very real possibility.

I hear ya. I thought I'd be nice and do my crescent and side street....doing my house was enough. I think I had half foot of just snowfall and drifting snow already on my sidewalks and driveway.

Not sure if it was mentioned last night, but Dreger says the John Stevens of the Flyers could be getting fired and MacT is a potential replacement. Would be interesting to see how MacT would do with that team... I suspect very well.

Sort of piggy backing an idea of including an outdoor rink...

I wonder if it would be feasible to have a ROOF-TOP rink added as well. Obviously come mid-February, it might not be the best place to keep warm, but the novelty of it would be amazing. It obviously couldn't be a 15,000 seater or anything but if it could seat a few thousand and be used for special events or something? When I was in Dubai, I seen the roof-top tennis court on The Burj Hotel, and as novelty as it is, it sure as hell looks cool. It would come off great on TV, but likely would never be used by the Oilers other than maybe pre-season/ Joey Moss Cups/ etc.

That would be interesting, I think MacT would do well with that Flyers team but I thought Stauffer use to say that when Pronger was here, him and MacT didn't always see eye to eye?

Mind you at the same time MacT did seem to get the best out of him so who knows, maybe that doesn't really matter.

I'm sure it would be designed in a way that you couldn't trip and fall to your death. It could be designed like a bowl, so that it's semi-enclosed. That would also help in regards to the wind chill factor. I'm a man of ideas, not a man of execution.

The practice facility will most likely be downtown, and I am the U of A will have access, and I am sure it will be world class.

Yeah, I'm getting ready for round three. FML

SIDE NOTE:
If you see your neighbor shoveling your walks, driveway and sidewalks for you (especially when he or she is on your property) and the rest of your neighbors, give them a thank you. Do not just drive into your garage, exit the garage door and walk into the front door of your house without doing so. If you do happen to do this, you are a ****** bag.

oilers will get a new arena

it will come down to how they sell the idea to the city of Edmonton, the proverb(old Jum Gantner joke there) of Alberta and any tax player asked to pony up some money to build it.

In this economical climate---Kats will have to pony up money.

And many anti-arena people will point to GM place in Vancouver and suggest Kats could do it that way
