oilers will get a new arena because the billionaire owner and management team seem more concerned about getting a new rink than they do about fielding a hockey team that can win more than once every few weeks.

it will come down to how they sell the idea to the city of Edmonton, the proverb(old Jum Gantner joke there) of Alberta and any tax player asked to pony up some money to build it.

In this economical climate---Kats will have to pony up money.

And many anti-arena people will point to GM place in Vancouver and suggest Kats could do it that way

Looks like Stevens has been fired.

I have enjoyed watching the Flyers the last couple years and wouldn't mind at all if Mact was there. Hartnell and Richards seem like the type of players Mact would enjoy coaching.
