I'm hoping for a wicked good game tonight!!! I'll be missing probably all of it because of my company christmas party, but it is going to be fun so i'm okay with it....i better come home and see the rangers won though!!!!
Miller will be in net tonight. As mentioned, Lalime was sent to Portland on a conditioning assignment so that he could get two games in before his next start, likely Wednesday vs Washington. It won't be Enroth, either. Ruff rarely plays his backup at home and almost never sits Miller if it's not a back-to-back (they had off on Friday).

4-1 Sabres: Lone goal for the Rangers?? Take a guess.
Gaustad is injured and will be out of the lineup. Mac doesn't really "crash" the net. Mair is worthless. I'd worry more about the Vanek-Kennedy-Grier line. They've been excellent since Ruff put them together during the 3rd period of last Saturday's Carolina game.
Also, as of now, our only healthy scratch would be Nathan Paetsch.
The Rangers have made some changes, are coming off a three game losing streak and 4 days to think about it. They have some new lines and hopefully a fresh mental approach after getting away from the game for a little bit. I just hope they can get through the first period tonight, because it might take them a little bit to get their legs going.
They really need to get some secondary scoring from guys like Higgins, Drury and Callahan. Im sorry but these guys cannot be held down all season, they just cant. Hopefully it starts tonight, Kotalik has a bounce back game and the powerplay regains form.
With the schedule coming up it would be huge coming out of Buffalo with 2 points to set things up for some tough games. The last few seasons some teams have owned the Rangers and vice versa. YOu never know when you run into a matchup that favors you the entire season and you beat up on that team regardless of your position in the standings. Im hoping that the Sabres are that team considering they havent played them at all this year and they play them twice in the next 10 days. But its a tall order for sure, because the Sabres are a very good team IMO.
I dont want to look too far ahead but if the Rangers can get through these next 4 games with some points the rest of the month the Rangers are playing 10 more games against teams with a combined point percentage of .484. Carolina 3X, NYI 3X, Flyers 2X and Atl and Fla once.
True, the Flyers have changed their coach. But usually they have a huge bounceback and rattle off a few wins before they settle back to earth. Im hoping that happens during the 8 games they play before they meet the Rangers. They also have two tough rivalry games back to back with the Pens prior to the Rangers matchup.
The Islanders, well - theyve earned the position they're in. They really have. Im hoping that the back to back games against them can rub off some of that spirit. The rivalry is for real now with the teams being so close in the standings. Maybe the 3 games against them can spark their play, and by then Dubinksy could be back in the lineup.
The Carolina games are total trap games so it could work against the Rangers, but the first two are in Carolina where they have been better and the Rangers know that. Its the road (0-10) where the Canes cant get anything going.

Miller plays lights out. Only if he is due for let down we have a chance. The rest doesn't matter. Last year team could not score on good goalie. This year team is a carbon copy of it offensively , except for Gaborik, who is the only difference. That difference let us be aflot for awhile, but everything has its limits.
Replacement of Zherdev and Antropov with Lisin and Kotalik cannot be compensated with any system the coach can bring about.
