See? That's what I'm sayin'.

Finally, somebody agrees with me.

Can't believe Moreau is actually playing like an NHL player right now. Did somebody flip his on switch?

If they go on a run, i would like to see it happen in the next 10 games so we can have a good idea of where the team can go from there..... Gagner looks lost out there, his body language looks horrible, i know he's only 20 but it's a little concerning especially considering how well his linemates are playing.
I love the forechecking of the Moreau-Cogliano-Potulny line, if only they learned how to score, hopefully that'll come in time. Overall, good win lets keep it rolling
It probably is though. Don't hate the guy but the team is building on the wrong player. Hemsky can be a complimentary player but not someone you build around. Usually, those are players that put the team on their backs. Hell, our team is full of excellent complimentary players, just no bonafide stud.

Part of me hopes Denis gets back and JDD starts playing well and we get on a roll. Another part of me kind of wishes the oilers fail miserably so we can finally get a franchise player to build around.

Well that outcome was a pleasant surprise.
Potulny (and Penner) with another solid night on the dot (64% with Ryan taking the majority of the draws) and Smid with 2 points and a +2.
JD was on the upside of his pendulum swing...lets see where he ends up on Monday night.

I think it's time for Quinn to juggle these lines.

for the top 2, I'd like to see:

Penner-Horcoff-Gagner

Nilsson-Brule-O'Sullivan

JDD looked really solid vs the Stars. Nice to see him pick up a SO victory vs Turco. When Khabibulin returns, do you see them alternating as starters?

Gagner makes me regret complimenting his defensive game the other night. Blech.

Anyone who thinks this team is better/more fun to watch without Hemsky needs to put the eggnog down. IF the rest of the team is working harder or more simply without him, then that's their fault, not Hemsky's.

One big positive for me is that Moreau line. Potulny is a good player. Loving him and Stone right now. Bring a lot.

The team can't really do anything when Hemsky doesn't give anyone else the puck. A case of "half empty, half full"

Wow, only 3 pages after a victory so far :p

If and when Khabi is healthy he'll be getting the majority of starts as long as he keeps up his solid play.

Absolutey not. The only thing JD has proven is that he is a hot/cold goalie. Besides Khabby doesn't earn his contract playing 40 games.

Maybe it's just a lot more fun for them to play without his huge ego in the room...or on the ice.

They were really jumping, and Cogliano was the engine.

Every line had really excellent offensive pressure, and forced turnovers all over the ice, even the 4th line. Very balanced attack right now.

Two real solid games in a row on the road where we outplayed legit playoff teams.

Another outstanding game from Smid...

9 hits
1 goal
1 assist
+2
2 blocked shots
2nd on the team in ES TOI

Could you post a real picture of yourself so we can compare & discuss who is more superficially ugly. Because your 'sticks and stones' really aren't that attractive and a photo of your best side might be easier to critique.

WooHoo! We won! I only caught the game from the start of the 2nd on, but was very impressed with the game overall.

Positives: JDD had a great game, Smid finally scored, most of roster was playing very hard, and well as a team, Horcoff looked great, even with one shoulder, Souray hitting and shooting(and a great poke check at the blue line), I haven't seen Nilsson play that good in a while, Stortini, Stone, Moreau and Jacque made very good use of their limited time on the ice, providing energy, checking, and sound defensive hockey, Potulny with another solid game, and got a lot of ice time for it, Visnovsky looking very good again, Staios, Smid, and Strudwick playing sound defensive hockey.

Negatives: Again, why is O'Sullivan getting ice time? Some very poor passing at times causing turn over's from the team as a whole. What happened to Tom Gilbert's confidence this season? He won't rush with the puck, and will usually throw it over to his partner to pass out of the end, or flip it out causing a turnover. I thought Gagne was supposed to have good hands and make good passes/plays in the offensive end? One of the poorer puck pandling games I have seen him play.

I love the smile Smid couldn't wipe off his face after his goal! Good for him, nice to see that emotion.

They are getting a lot of chances and are forechecking very well but the one clear issue which is a big one is that they lack finish big time and have a hard time stringing multiple passes together which will hurt them as the season wears on imo.

I totally agree. I really hope they can package him together for a player like Staal in the offseason, or even move him at the draft for a top pick.

God please no. No more Horcoff on the top line/PP. And a big no to breaking up Penner and Brule

Penner - Brule - Nilsson
O'Sullivan - Horcoff - Gagner

Smid and JDD were fantastic. Lubo was his usual awesome self. I'd like to see Penner and Brule's chances turn into results soon though. Nilsson may have been our best forward today.

That line is fine. Potulny is a decent enough finisher for a 3rd line which is probably the most intelligent line this team has.
These players are the least of this teams worries.
