We shouldn't get carried away.

The Oilers always do this ... once there's no expectation to do anything but suck ... they suddenly start to play OK.

Same thing happened in 07-08 once Horcoff got injured for the season, and Horcoff was actually playing well that year (not the current crappy version).

Any time there's pressure on this team though ... like they're expected to compete for a playoff berth ... they can't handle it.

I think the squad as a whole is mentally weak.

They'll probably play just well enough for the rest of the year to screw up their pick, maybe flirt with a playoff spot a few times, and then predictably fold. Maybe do something funny like eliminate Vancouver out of the playoffs the last week of the season or something. Then next year because we do alright people will start heaping on the playoff expectations ... and well we've seen this movie before.

They can play spoiler. They can't play contender.

Totally agree there. Horcoff seems so much more effective on the 2nd/3rd line. I think Gagne needs to be put back on the fourth line again like at the start of the year and work his way back up to the top line though. I wouldn't mind seeing Potulny up on the top line since he's been playing so well.

When I was making the GDT last night, I had the title "The Turning Point" and it looks like it could be.

I sure hope it is. I hate losing

Oh no, i actually meant the team on a whole lacks finish and has a hard time string multiple passes together consistently...... I love the Moreau-Cogs-Potulny line as a third line, they are playing great as of late.

Sorry Rin, but we needed a gamer to make the GDT.

I dunno Rin, you'd better watch it. If you add seeing the future to your already impressive list of attributes, you may have to beat your HFOil suitors back with a stick.

I am very disappointed with another win. Come on, guys. It's time to turn it around, regroup and finally lose. We can't afford to waste a nearly secured loss 5 min before the end. It should be completely unacceptable.

After all, they are paid big bucks to take a hit to their career stats with this tanked season. And they show this indecency to ignore all the fans who are paying for a 1st overall pick. Fire everyone before it's too late.

Absolutely pathetic and disgusting performance today.

Well, Quinn can only play O'Sullivan so much before it becomes obvious to everyone what they're doing. The rest of the team just picked it up though, thwarting their efforts.

Given the win, I was hoping you'd take my comment the best way. Active hockey players who are effective just tend to be not that pretty. However, as always: a win is a win is a win!!!

In the last two road games the hockey gods have rained down, first a flora of four leaf clover and then a 152 ounce golden horseshoe, so next game needs to have a more focused start or Panther claws will be drawing & quartering our lately lucky road crew.

Are you kidding me? You are definitely not in the minority, i can't think of one Oiler fan who won't scream if we barely miss the playoffs again and get a mediocre draft pick.

If I'm Pat Quinn, I'm talking about Florida now, not Texas. This team can't be self satisfied, because they haven't achieved anything yet.

Also, Nilsson and Gagner should flip-flop spots, Gagner needs to find his game again.
