Souray Being Shopped?

Speculation (because it's Garroich!)... not necessarily a rumor...

Maybe the management team has also caught Dive fever.

Well it was an eastern team so lets do an Eklund and put the rumours together. Souray to Carolina for Stall. Yes I am aware of his no trade clause etc.

But I said I was doing an Eklund. I don't need any logic.

The only team Garrioch has any insight into is the Sens. Otherwise, he's the Canadian version of Eklund.

Is anyone interested in Vinny? He isn't exactly lighting it up for the bolts this season. They are a southeast team the last I checked.

[I thinllk is has to do with the fact they realize they are not a playoff team have too many high priced players for where they are in the standings

He is just a touch too old for my liking.. considering im hoping we go into rebuild one day here... with Eric Staal, hes still young enough for it to be justifiably party of a rebuild.

I agree, but could this not be him hearing that the Oilers are shopping Souray through the Senators home office?

I think trading Souray makes a lot of sense, but for this summer - not during the season. His NTC is up this June (IIRC, it might be July) and we can deal him wherever. His real salary is lower, meaning a lot of budget teams will definitely have some interest in him. We aren't nearly as limited with our options if we wait.

Souray, Cogliano, 2011 pick to Columbus for Filatov + Tyutin?

Horcoff(5.5) + Souray(5.4) for Staal(8.25) + Ward(2.5)

We are giving up 10.9 million for 10.75 million
We finally receive a number one centre and we get rid of an albatross contract.

Maybe its Souray, Cogliano, and a 1st for Staal?(Thats 4 pieces in a trade)
Would Souray waive his NTC to be that far away from his kids?
Anyone know if Souray and Cole got along together?

why would carolina want an overpaid 3rd liner and a soon-to-be declining vet on a re-building team?

It had better be a salary dump on Edmonton's side - a trade for a talented youngster (i.e. Luke Schenn) to build a Stanley Cup team around.

Lowe / Tambellini / Katz keep trying to cripple the Oilers with big name, high priced, cap destroying signings - this must stop!!!

Why not? Is his value going to be any higher than it is now? This would be the time to move him if he agree's. I think we could and should move a couple more guys to contenders who have the room salary wise. Get some more younger guys to mold with our younger guys. Isn't that what Philly did a couple years ago?

I think it's easier to look at Eastern Conference teams and eliminate who wouldn't be interested in Souray. Like, say, the Islanders, or ... Philly, unless we took a lot of salary back ... hmm, actually, how much does Simon Gagne make?

It would depend on what kind of a disability plan he has

Agreed, I'm surprised that you're the only one that thought this.

To Edmonton: Spezza and ______
To Ottawa: Souray and Cogs/Gagner
