Team MVP

Roman Hamrlik.

We don't even need a poll.

He's good, but what about :

Mike Cammalleri
Tomas Plekanec
Carey Price

?

I say theres no clear MVP, but these three players and Hamrlik are the on-ice leaders of this team.

Gionta was a leader as well before he got hurt. Kinda funny, though. First season ever without a captain and we got 5 guys stepping up big time. Compared to last season... or even the ones before (minus the 07-08 Kovalev Show).

And Markov will be another one once he's back.

Awww I miss Gionta

Anyways its nice to see that we have guys excelling and having an impact at all positions.

LW-Cammalleri
C-Plekanec
RW-healthy Gionta

D-Hamrlik
D-healthy Markov

G-Price

I really like this years team.

Never doubted him, even last year. He's a rock and would be a decent #1 on a mediocre team (worse than habs)

I love Hammer but i think the backbone is still Price.

Its tough to name an MVP to start the year as Hammer, Cammalleri, Price and Plekanec have carried this team for the most part. Take out anyone of them and this is a last place team.

I really like what Hammer has brought to the team, but you can't over look Pleks and Cammer...and maybe the biggest factor maybe how Price has emerged and stepped up too.

Given the circumstances surrounding the team with the Markov loss et all, I would have to agree.

There can't just be one MVP. Where would this team be without Plekanec, or Cammalleri?

He was fantastic the first year. I thought he was the best UFA signing then. Last year his play went downhill but the entire team sucked so it is not fair to single him out. He also played with Brisebois for a good portion.

He has really stepped it up in the absence of Markov. I think he found a partner he is comfortable with too.

Yea, I thought you had Miley avy because you lost a bet during playoffs? You have to keep that for much longer?

Roman played quite a game, got to admit. So did Pleks and Cammalleri.

Hamrlik is playing much better then last year, seems to have found his game back.

He is a huge part of this team, but Price,Pleks and Cammalleri are just as important

Just imagine when Markov comes back and we match him with OB or Gorges, leaving Hammer and Spacek on the second pairing. That top 4 is gonna be solid with Price in net.

Roman Hamrlik was 1st overall pick...who was the last #1 to play for the Habs I legitimately wonder?

He has had an amazing career, over his last 11 seasons (prior to that he was on the horrendous expansion years Lightning) Hamrlik has averaged 35 points and a +6 (his plus/- would be much higher if not for a freak year in which he was a -22). That is a clear record of consistency, we are seeing that again this year (last year was clearly a case of the entire team being poor, he still posted good stats though).

I think he is not even at 100% but played through it because of the 12 tons of injuries we have had. That guy is one of the best "bad UFA contract" in recent years seriously. He is so underrated because he's not really dominant in any aspect of his game but he does everything well.

When Markov comes back, Hamrlik and Spacek are going to be the second pairing. THE. SECOND. PAIRING.
