Lee and new Jerseys

Sens Chirp has an update up on the Lee situation, and the possible new third Jersey.

Quote:
Over the weekend I had a couple different rumours sent my way on Lee. As always they are just rumours but here is a look at what people are saying...

-The first suggested that there may soon be or already is a deal in principle involving Lee. The deal would apparently be for Cam Barker in Chicago.

MY TAKE: This one has been talked about for awhile now and would really be a solid deal if the Senators could get it done. The speculation is that Lee would go to Chicago along with an expiring contract to help the Hawks cap situation. Barker is still young but has become a little bit expendable on a deep Hawks blueline.

I still think the Hawks would rather move Sopel if they could find a taker.

-The second rumour has to do with the Carolina Hurricanes. They apparently like Brian Lee and are looking to move a veteran like Aaron Ward.

MY TAKE: This better be "plan b" if Murray really is considering this move. Ward is a good veteran defenceman but not what the Senators need right now. Ottawa needs a guy that can play the power play. If Barker is indeed available he is the guy Ottawa should be going after

I don't love either trade (Barker would inhibit our ability to resign Volch), but I really like the new jersey.

Senschirp is Eklund without the fanbase. A hit **** with no connections whatsoever. Please stop posting this garbage.

I think it's safe to say most people have cooled on the idea of Barker to Ottawa. He's overrated badly as anything other than a D-man who can work the PP. Picard + basically for 3.1 million a year.

Ottawa has absolutely no use for Ward, what an odd rumour. No thanks!

That's why it's posted as "Rumor"

I like Senschirp, no idea if he is legit but I like to read his blog.

Pretty nice looking new jersey, wish we had one with a higher definition tho

You don't know what you're talking about. He's a great source for Sens' rumours. Just don't read these threads/posts if you dislike him.

While we already have a red jersey, I would defiantly consider buying that mock up if we used them. Thats sick.

I think he's proven that he's more reliable than Eklund. He often has minor roster moves before they are reported elsewhere, which to me is evidence that he has some sort of source. It might just be someone in the press department who tells him before they finish the press release. Who knows. My point isn't that people should believe everything he says, but I do think he deserves a little more respect than Eklund.

Senschirp has posted the most ridiculous nonsense and never gets called on it. He may have had inside connections once upon a time, but in an attempt to boost his readership he's been publishing absolutely anything. I'm surprised he has any credibility left.

You know just because someone posts what a blogger says doesn't mean they believe everything that the blogger writes. It's just another place to get some information about your team, believe it or not, makes no difference. It's interesting information for discussion, that's all. Try not to take things so seriously, btw the sky is falling ....

Ruutu and Jokinen are about all i'd want from Carolina that would be available. We need a top 6 forward or a top 4 d-man, so which ever one we can acquire cheaply.

However, a top 4 dman is more important.

BTW, I have no dog in this fight since to me (i.e. I really don't care for Senschirp, if he is legit, great, if he isn't, oh well). If something were to happen regarding trades, it would hit TSN moments after it is official so there is no need to play the "what if," "will he/won't he be traded?," "what superstar can I get from my garbage?" games from my humble point of view (see: most trade rumours in this website).

However, I do find this quote to be hilarious under the circumstances.

Also Shannon, Keller, Winchester and the Heatley/Hossa deal. He also stated multiple times throughout the summer that DW insisted on including Cheechoo in any deal to the Sens but Murray was pushing for another top 6 forward. Which turned out to be true, and he called San Jose as the front runner as his gut call throughout as well.

Also called Saprykin, the Winchester re-signing, (as well as when they originally signed him), and several others.

Aaron Ward is a shell of what he was 4 years ago. If that's Murray's move to help the defense out, then we're in trouble.

I don't like Barker, but that seems like a move he'd make. Lee is a cheap young defenseman, the type Chicago would be more than willing to take on with their big contracts.
