Why not take advantage of the schedule and get the even more rest for later in the season, all the while getting your backup into a groove?
Emery was getting plenty of rest. The only reason to play Boucher was to get him into game action, and he has proven he can go long stretches without playing and still perform when he gets the chance.
The schedule is pretty demanding for the remainder of the season and there was going to be a lot of time sharing between Emery and Boucher out of necessity going forward. The next six weeks will be tough because the schedule is such that Boucher won't be able to play every game without risking injury himself.
well this explains a lot. We'll see if laviolette really is cut from a different cloth. Usually when a goalie gets hurt for us, the call up never gets a chance. Ask neil little Posted via Mobile Device
One guy I would suggest Holmgren takes a look at is Cory Schneider.
Don't know if you saw his 45-save game against Dallas last month. The kid is for real.
Cheap at a cap hit of 1.084M.
Has already proven everything he can in the AHL. Luongo is locked up long term, so he has nowhere to play.
You can take one of our D-men too - O'Brien (cheaper) or Bieksa.
