Coyotes Sign Stone to Entry Level Contract

Isn't the WHL in the middle of their season? Seems a bit odd to sign him now and not after the season. I thought Stone looked good in the camps so I'm looking forward to see what he can do as a pro.

He doesn't have to leave the WHL, or anything. He'll still finish up his season there.

I'm sure they only waited this long to make sure he didn't take a big step back in his progression. He certainly hasn't done that.

Stone's signing, Lepisto's play, incoming OEL and potentially Goncharov next year. Make me wonder if we may dump a body or two at the deadline for a rental (Nick Ross we're looking at you).

Good to get it done. He's got a cannon and will be more than ready for pro hockey next year.

Should be a good battle for spots on the blue line in the desert(s) next year.

Signings are always good news.

How long did we discuss Wheeler being signed until it was too late?

Stone is an under rated prospect IMO.

Suddenly our d prospects are a real strength...even with Ross looking like a bust.

Very good prospect. Certainly a bargain third rounder. A regular on an NHL blueline sometime during the 2011-12 season I figure.

These mid season signings happen all the time. It doesn't mean much. I believe Keith Yandle was signed during the QMJHL playoffs.

The ask on the Stone side might have come down a bit with Stone not being named to the WJC camp.

Anybody got the $$ yet?

Big body that's very fluid with the puck. Glad the yotes inked him.
