Maybe so but it's always fun to keep tabs on the fickle ones. Once Bieksa steps up (and I'm confident he will) those same douches are going to be slobbering all over his **** again.
I'm sorry, what? Your whole point in suggesting such a dumb trade was to point out to the people frustrated with Bieksa that there are players worse than he is?

It is the "he (she or it) is bad but consider how much worse that he (she or it) is" argument.
Canucks fans are familiar with this line of reasoning - it has been employed pretty much consistently since 1970.
Is there a possibility he could be in as soon as tonight?
even if he was able to go I don't think you break up a winning lineup. Let him rest up and get 100% before slotting him in. There are a lot of games in a short period of time so he'll be needed big time.

You have a point but I really don't think slotting Edler into the lineup would be any detriment to the team's winning ways of late. O'Brien has indeed been playing well for the Canucks but I think the team would still be fine without him (assuming he's the one who sits out when Edler is back). As long as he carries on with the same attitude the Canucks will have a very reliable #7 D at their disposal.

I'd much rather have a healthy Edler in the lineup than OB but if he's between 60-80% why not take the extra game off to get fully healthy and not risk further injury.
Following today's practise here is how Edler sees his return:
Quote:
As for Edler, he's gone from week to week to day to day in becoming closer to being a roster option. How close is he?
"I'm not sure yet," he said. "I've been skating for the last five days and this is my first practice. It felt pretty good with the passing and shooting, but it's different when it comes to a game. I have to get the strength fully back and it's not an injury you want to rush because I don't want to get back and be injured again. I want to make sure I'm good to go. It's game situations and battling. You don't practice like you play in a game."
Looks like Edler is possible for Sunday's game against the Blues:
Quote:
Injured Canuck defenceman Alex Edler was back at practice Thursday, prompting head coach Alain Vigneault to wax almost poetic when asked about Edler's impending return to his lineup.
"Eddie has gone from week-to-week to day-to-day but obviously not tomorrow," Vigneault said after preparing his skaters for tonight's date with the soaring Washington Capitals.
