Jeremy Roenick now works for LAKings.com doing a spot called "JRguement."

If this is jumping off point for his media career, that's cool. However, if there is one place he is reveled and scoffed at, it's Los Angeles.

Cam Barker got the 2+5+10 for fighting after a deemed clean hit, and no one on the Blues got anything. So, to the non-believers, there you go.

From today's Miami newspaper, an article on David Booth:

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/ho...y/1407003.html

Quote:
Coach Pete DeBoer on Saturday added some doubt to that timeline, saying that it's possible Booth could be done for the season.

Booth, who led the team in goals last season, was knocked unconscious by Philadelphia captain Mike Richards in a brutal open-ice hit on Oct. 24. Booth sustained a major concussion and has resumed skating and working out. But DeBoer said Booth's return is an uncertainty.

``David Booth is a wild-card factor whether or not he comes back,'' DeBoer said after practice in Coral Springs. ``We're going on 30-plus games playing without him now, so we're not counting on that.''

Booth was unavailable for comment Saturday but recently said he was excited about coming back. Booth was with the team during its most recent trip and watched the Panthers get their revenge for the hit that knocked him out during a lopsided 4-1 win in Philadelphia just before the Christmas break.

At that time, DeBoer said it was good for the team to see that Booth was working his way back, and being around the team was good for Booth as well.

When asked if Booth had encountered any more setbacks during his preparations to return to the ice, DeBoer said not really -- although because this was such a serious concussion, the Panthers were taking no chances.

``The problem with this type of injury is you take small steps forward, and you take another one back,'' DeBoer said. ``Then a couple more forward and inch your way toward getting him back.''

Kevin Bieksa out 3 months with ankle surgery. He got cut by a skate blade (again) last week. Apparently this is the third time in 2 seasons he's been cut by a skate. Ouch.

While I'm not sorry from a Flyers perspective, my fantasy team is in tatters.

That seems a really long time for even a deep cut but a really short time if there was any sort of tendon damage.

There was at least one severed tendon (possibly two). He'll be out for a few months; the reason for optimism in Vancouver is that he had a similar injury two seasons ago and returned much earlier than expected.

He seems to have escaped the worst of it then. It could be a CEI or shelve someone for a year. For him to be back in 3 months is stellar news.

Marty Biron will be in the press box tonight, as Dipietro will back up Roloson against the Avs.

It would be highly amusing if Dipietro suffered a Pascal Leclaire-type bench injury before he ends up between the pipes this season.

Some are saying Columbus needs to win tonight, or Ken Hitchcock may pay the price. 4 minutes ago from mobile web

Well, when it's being reported like this, it's inevitable it seems. I would disagree with this from a Columbus point of view.

In the NBA it would have been glocks rather than water bottles.

Well in the NBA they only do it in the locker room. It's completely acceptable when it's in there.
