Palm trees and hockey sticks... nothing says hockey more than that.

Per TG, Peters, PL3 and Corrente are the healthy scratches. Clearly Lemaire doesn't expect any fisticuffs tonight.

Also, Zharkov is with Rolston and Elias again. Langenbrunner is on the third line with Pandolfo and Niedermayer.

And someone over on NJDevs did a study - the long and short of it is that over the last 20 years, only one goalie won a Stanley Cup playing 70+ games, and yes it was Marty but he did it pre-lockout and rule changes with a lockdown defense (ergo it wasn't as much game-in game-out strain). Plus he was younger then.

It's absolutely ridiculous that he's going to play seven games in eleven nights. In an Olympic year. When we're in first place and the backup's more than capable of filling in against a lousy Panthers team. Marty must have wanted the game because Clemmensen was playing.
But my point being that he is the polar opposite of those goalies. He plays better when it's in the 71-74 range it seems, doesn't it? Any more and we don't make it out of the first round, any less and we miss the playoffs totally. Kind of strange.

I wouldn't mind seeing Zharkov on the 1st line... The ZZZ line! Obligatory line for a boring trapping team

Marty should take the night off.

This is the attitude that we take that gets back to hurt us.

Is Marty getting an extra 5 or 6 games of rest this season really going to hurt our chances in the regular season? No, we survived without him last year.

Danis needs to play more. It's a friggin' Olympic year.

nothing happened, that was his best playoff series in years. he was the difference between losing in 7 and losing in 5, because after Game 1, they didn't play particularly great in any game.

2/3rds win. Corrente is good but the Devils just don't have room for him right now. It is going to be tough to keep Fraser out of the lineup when Martin comes back. He is like a young White with two functioning eyes. I bet a few would say Mike Mottau should be the 7th d-man, but that is unlikely.
