Game #32.

With #32 the Oilers are now 10-2-1.

GO OIL! 4-3 oil!

To be honest... I like Brule on the top line more than Hemsky. Can't count on Penner or Gagner to provide grit and Brule's shot has improved.

Don't know what to think of that 3rd pairing, though. Wish Chorney came back.

Cory Cross and Igor Ulanov both get hat-tricks. 7-6 Blues on the power of Chris Pronger's 7 even strength goals.

There are shootouts now, though. If Gretz and the rest had those in their days they'd probably have longer winning streaks than 5.

Thanks for the GDT! I was just wondering how you came to these statistics. By my account he's allowed 7 goals in the last 4 games on 132 shots. That would put him at around 1.75 GAA and .947 SV% over that span. Not bad indeed! Hope he keeps it up!

Yeah your right. I used the wrong numbers to come up with those stats. I was sure they seemed wrong too. I was very tired when I did it, lol. I'll update the post accordingly.

Blues are vastly overrated.

Oilers win. Lets say 4-1.

Lets hope that the Oilers can "luck" out another game against a "bottom feeder" etc. etc.
It would be great to get this win and go home with a 5 game road winning streak, Oiler teams in the past would lose a game like this so lets see what these boys can do
Go Oilers always

Conky is coming off a 42 save shut-out. It's all about the goaltending in this one. Both guys are reasonably hot. JDD needs to have a good first period and the Oilers will hang in there.

For whatever reason the team chemistry and concept is much higher with all of our bigger players in the line-up.

Jacques, Stone and Stortini have really provided an element the Oilers have lacked immensely the past few seasons. Couple that with a grittier small player in Brule and the "difficult to play against" factor is upped greatly.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Comrie returns. I think that Pouliot, when healthy, will be going on a conditioning stint to Springfield.

Oilers win 11-10.

Smid
Horcoff x 2
Nilsson x 2
Penner x 2
Vis
Souray
Gagner
Brule

Backes x 3
Perron x 3
Boyes x 3
Johnson

Three blues who score hattricks leave injured after first 10 minutes of game, near-death by hat.

Oilers come back from 10-0 scoring 11 goals in the last 5 minutes of regulation.

Deslauries makes 181 saves, Conklin makes 17.

Smid beats up Erik Johnson with a golf cart proving he is the better young golfer.

Deslauriers
Dubnyk
We should swap Moreau and Jacques and have 3 functional lines..
Moreau-Horcoff-O'Sullivan can be the 10M+ dollar 4th line of suck ..

I hope the line on the ice at puck drop is

JFJ Storts Stone. Let hose boys crash and bang for the first 30 seconds of the game. Set the tone early

let's all hope the Oilers have hit bottom on this 4-game streak is the team picking up where they left off after the first 10-game stretch of the season.

We're not that far out of the playoffs and I want to see this team win!

GO OILERS! Get that 5th win!

They don't score a lot of goals. Last in the NHL at 71 goals for. Doesn't scare you too much.

They are great defensively though.

Should be low-scoring.

Still no Grebs? I hope he is back soon. I can't even tell you how much I am looking forward to when we can ice our complete top 6 again, since the 3rd game of the season. Knock on wood.

Lubo - Smid
Souray - Gilbert
Grebeshkov - Staios

Grebs is an absolutely massive upgrade on Strudwick, who still tries hard, but just isn't really an NHLer anymore. That bottom pairing looks so much better then the one we have been playing.

Go Oil!!! Here's hoping for 5. We basically need to go on a win streak until we are back in the playoffs. 3-4 more should do it
