Isles have the market cornered on inferior, limited dmen. Why some of their fans think they need another is beyond me.

An NHL roster is not be managed like a lottery ticket, taking a chance on any latest name that is available.

I would hope the Rangers would be all over LK. They need a #7 d-man and possibly a #6 for a little while as Gilroy was just sent down. Would make sense.

I hope DMac doesn't get claimed...would hate to lose him in the CBJ organization. He played well while he was up here & seemed to bring it every night.

Lukas is a good guy and has great wheels for a D man.

LK's currently salary is $1.475 million. I'm not surprised LK was waived this year. He's been one of those guys who gets waived every now and then because he is extremely streaky. This is just like Tom Preissing: he adds depth but then he signs for an exorbitant amount and plays...questionably.

I won't be surprised if someone claims LK. Heck, if Clb is looking for a D-man, they may consider it.

Lukas seems to be a nice guy and he is not as bad as Malik but im very pleased that he is waived and hopefully someone will pick him up, he made some bad mistakes every night

Shane O'Brien was the 3rd star last night. Played a solid game, had an assist, contributed physically.

you would have to think he gets picked up. He's a UFA next yr right?. TB just signed way too many Dmen just like the past yr they signed way to many F. Was Foster not playing the wing though?

The real key of that trade was getting rid of Ouellet. I can't complain too much though, I was one of the biggest SOB fans at hf but his time was up.

Yes, they did. O'Brien now has just as many points as Krajicek, despite being a stay-at-home, physical d-man. Regardless, he hasn't been waived yet, so it's a bit of a slam dunk.

Of course, what he won't say is that 1-2 years ago certain Canucks fans were hyping the hell out of Krajicek as a "Top 4 defenseman" and proposing him in deals straight up for Jeff Carter and Tuomo Ruutu.

So really they lost the trade if all they got for their "Top 4 defenseman" was Shane O'Brien.

Weird to see a guy on a new 1.4 mil contract, who plays roughly 19 minutes a night, get waived.

What are you talking about? How is any of that relevant to the guy getting waived by some other team?

In the end result, the Canucks won the trade. Both O'Brien and Krajicek appear to have gotten worse over the past couple of years. However, O'Brien didn't just get waived from the Lightning. Krajicek did.

Wasn't there a pick involved too?

Also how is OB doing anyways.

Congrats on "winning" a trade of two bad defensemen.

It's relevant because he was allegedly a "Top 4 defenseman" a year ago and was constantly being thrown in to trade proposals for [insert Top 6 forward here], yet all you got for him was Shane O'Brien. And that's relevant because you brought up O'Brien's performance last night in an obvious attempt to gloat about winning the trade.

Tampa dumped Ouellet's salary in the deal. They also got Simek who is still in their system. Not that that actually amounts to much of anything, but it's not like O'Brien is anything more than a below-average NHL defenseman.
