If I am Sather I start selling now. They have an abundance of players who can play, give the younger players a shot to play. Move Higgins, Rozsival, Prospal and allow players like Lisin, Parenteau, Boyle play more minutes. Start to figure out who should be kept this offseason and who shouldnt.

Side note, Buffalo fans ****ing suck. Loud, annoying, and filled up 40% of the building tonight. Most of them were mid-age fat women in Miller jerseys too. Was I the only one who noticed those 3 idiots tonight in the 300s somewhere wearing helmets with orange flashing lights for when the Sabres scored?
40% is pushing it IMO, I'd say about 20%-30%. I
really didn't think there were that many compared to the 'Wings game last week.

I saw those idiots, around 310 or 311 I think. I didn't watch them after a Sabres goal, but saw them just randomly standing up with those lights on. They looked like ****ing homos.

Anyway, Hall here we come!

Yeah, but I think he could sell it like this:

"if we sell now and build for the future it is almost a sure-thing that this team will make the playoffs for the next 10-12 seasons with Gaborik, Hank and whoever we draft this year to go along with Kreider, Grachev, Callahan, MDZ, McDonagh, Stepan, Dubinsky, Staal, Girardi and Anisimov. We have an identity and a very young team. Allow for me to do this and this team will be as it should be, a perennial cup contender for the foreseeable future."

Actually funny story, I was at a game(amateur hockey) and on this PP for the Home team they had 15 shots. Could not get one past the goalie. My buddy kept calling them A-Holes and I went with the whole skit, and at the end of the PP I Yelled "Keeping Firing A-Holes!"

Well, maybe Sather is old enough to have forgotten what he told the Dolans the last time. Not sure they will fall for it this time. And I'm not sure, given the fact that the MSG and the Garden are going public that they will be be willing to take the hit from a revenue standpoint either--especially with the plans to spend $500 million on renovations in the near future.

This. Think about how much better all of these guys would be with a true franchise player like Hall leading the way. Guys like Anisimov, Stepan, Grachev, and Kreider could develop better without the pressure of being first-liners. Dubinsky and Callahan would be ideal third line players on a good team.

The way he should sell it is this:

They will actually save some money from the salaries this year and it is like an investment into the future. They have a very young team and organization, all they need is one more piece and they will be set for a long time. All he needs is a chance to get that last piece to the puzzle.

Exactly. And to think, we have another 2 1/2 years of this stiff on the roster.

Kotalik still can be traded. He's a PP specialist and has value

Doesn't Kotalik have a no trade clause?

Since that hot start in October, the Rangers have been entirely mediocre – and that’s on their best nights. On their worst nights? Coach John Tortorella labeled them embarrassing, as he did on Wednesday night after a brutally lackluster appearance in Chicago, where they were outshot 41-18, and outclassed by an even larger amount.

Saturday night, they played a mostly even game, but couldn’t break through in the final 47:43. Just about the definition of mediocre for a team that hasn’t been under .500 this late in the season since before the lockout, when they finished the 2003-2004 season 27-40-7-8.

It’s currently a team in disarray, and really, is there any reason to believe the end of this Blueshirt nightmare is anywhere close to coming? Considering how close General Manager Glen Sather has the Rangers to the salary cap limit, no meaningful help is coming because they just don’t have the space for it.

Oh goody, we could have Sather come down and try coaching again. It worked out so well the first time.

He also got paid a lot less and wasn't asked to be a top-6 type player. The guy had 30+ goals and really wasn't much more than a checking center and a PP specialist.

Those Buffalo teams were so good, they basically had D'Antoni inflation of everybody's stats.

for those of you talking about selling at the deadline... FORGET IT.

It will never happen, Dolan would not allow it. He wants (needs) them to at least play one round of playoff hockey for revenue. They're gonna do anything they can to get there even if they fall short.

This is the New York Rangers, not the Pittsburgh Penguins. (although I would rather do what the Penguins did)

its already happened once in recent memory, i think if we are this crappy at the deadline, youd have no choice but to become sellers.

Skipped the game because I thought the play look like it was heading for a disaster, surprised it ended 2-3.
