I think Sharks fans have this part under control. He even commented on it at the State of the Sharks (a PR event, Q/A with players, coaches and mgmt) last year.

It's hard to fault a guy who leads the league in points, but I agree that he'd be more effective in the postseason if he shot the puck and drove the net a little more.

it is funny how fans can complain about a player who is on pace to break the 90+ assist mark for the 3rd time in his career, which will make him just the 3rd player in nhl history to ever amass 90+ assists in 3 seasons. (behind only lemieux and gretzky).

also another fun stat, thornton has just as many assists as the 2nd highest point getter has points.

And here's another fun stat.....Thornton has just as many goals as Manny Malhotra.
