David Perron

For the sake of curiosity, what would your team give up for Perron?

This may be an instance where the Blues could buy (draft) low and sell high...but I've grown tired of a certain segment of the Blues fanbase. It's almost embarrassing how highly some Blues fans think of the kid. You'd think he was the second coming of Mario Lemieux the way they drool over the stick-work and potential he has. Yes, he's talented...but the savior of the Saint Louis Blues he is not. He's one man of 23, yet a lot of fans put him on a pedestal...and quite frankly, it's a little nauseating.

I'm sure I'll get flamed by Blues fans, but I'm interested in knowing what other fans think of him and what kinds of offers you think the Blues would receive if he were to become available.

I don't think he'll get traded unless it's part of a package for an established star player...but nevertheless I'm still curious.

Pretty convinced Montreal would be interested, he'd be a good fit for the 2nd line. I'd easily give a first round pick + package considering his upside.

But, not sure why would the Blues trade him.

They haven't come out and said it directly, but listening to Barret Jackman's post game interview last night, he takes a shot @ Perron by saying "we have guys more worried about points and beating guys 1 on 1 then getting pucks in deep" ...Perron has been under the vet's skin and the coaches skin since he joined the club

I'd probably give

2nd SJ
Lee
Prospect not named Wiercioch,Karlsson,Cowen,Lehner

deal?

Or as A joke, I posted this in a Sens thread, because I said we could trade Spezza for 3 Michaleks as A joke.

To STL: Jason Spezza

To NYR: TJ Oshie

To PHI: 2nd SJ, Brian Lee, Barrett Jackman

To OTT: David Perron, Ryan Callahan, Simon Gagne

Deal? I know there is probably some team that is getting screwed, but I really didn't put much time into this post.

I'd give you Dubinsky + a pick or mid level prospect for Perron.

or Higgins +

Also I follow the Blues a little and I don't think you are off base in assuming Perron is expendable. If he get's his head in the right place and plays a more team game he will turn into a solid player.

These offers aren't very good. If the Blues want to get a star player for Perron at this point in the season they're going to have to trade him to a non-contender.

I don't think David Perron would get you a star player in return, he is going to get you a young player with potential which is what he is, plus a pick or prospect. He doesn't have extremely high value.

I wasn't suggesting Perron alone would get a star player. The OP asks if Perron could be part of a package to acquire a star player.

My bad. Either way I think his value is down, you are probably right he would fit best on a team that is going to rebuild...

If he doesn't have a high trade value, and St Louis fans like him too much. What would be the point in trading him?

Exactly. I don't think it makes much sense to trade him at this point.

What does St Louis need?

The Bruins would be very interested in Perron and even tried to get him (and KT) at last year's trade deadline. Plus Chiarelli and JD have made a few deals with each other.

Bergeron, Savard of Lucic would be coming back the other way. I'm not saying straight up, but one of those 3 would have to be in the deal.

Nope ,Pens couldn't afford both Perron and Boyes once Perron needs to be re-signed. Plus Gogo's contract is looking like a steal.

Considering it's his idol, is the guy becoming a Kovalev version 2.0?

Either David Krejci, Patrice Bergeron, or Blake Wheeler.
