John Grahame signed to PTO with the Adirondack Phantoms

Quote:
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren confirmed to the Daily News on Saturday afternoon that Grahame, 34, signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with the Adirondack Phantoms yesterday. He will be in uniform tonight for the Phantoms game in Glens Falls, N.Y., against Wilkes Barre-Scranton.

I hope its just for the Phantoms. Right now Riopel is the youngest starting goalie in the AHL and needs a experienced backup

This is Phantoms only so that Riopel isn't thrown under the bus so to speak.

Grahame does not effect the Flyers in any way shape or form.

John Grahame is the cousin of my ex-girlfriend. One of the many reasons I dumped her.

Jeff Reese coached him in Tampa Bay, too.

from what I understand Backlund was pretty good at camp/preseason and has lots of experience. any chance the Flyers give him a shot with Boucher struggling as well?

I was hoping we'd see Backlund yesterday. I think he deserves some playing time. We should at least see what we have.

Is the Philadelphia Daily News any reliable ?

Flyers are apparently interested in Jaroslav Halak. He is an upgrade on both Emery and Boucher. But why the Habs would help the Flyers bumping them in the standings?

Would you guys like the idea of having Halak ?

Id like Halak, thought it depends what we give up. Obviously none of JVR or Giroux. Outside of that, I dont know what they'd want, unless its our garbage.

Indeed. I don't see the Flyers giving JVR or Giroux for Halak. On the other hand, I don't see the Habs dealing Halak for junk, Halak would help the Flyers and junk would help the habs suck more.

Is the newspaper reliable?

The newspaper itself is pretty reputable, but the hockey writers are hit or miss, so it's tough to tell. Do you have a link?

Grahame is playing for the Phantoms? Who will take over his garbage collecting route?
