BS! Wow.... This is huge, we need Smyth back, we have been riding on our depth hard since Kopitar left on vacation, and Simmonds has been probably the #1 reason it has worked out for us.
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
DAMN!! This is horrible news! WTF happened? Depending on how long he's out, (Please, please, please don't be long) this could be a huge hit. How do we replace his energy, defense, and puck control? The answer is we don't. And why the hell can't they tell us what's wrong with him? It always ends up leaking out anyway. Man, I'm disappointed.
These are defining moments. Players like Kopitar, Brown, Williams, Frolov, Stoll, and Handzus must take ownership of this team. Kopitar must score. Brown must drive to the net and create time and space for his line mates, and score ugly goals, Williams must keep doing what he is doing but put more pucks in, Stoll...don't change a thing...Frolov, look at Stoll, Handzus, stop taking so many penalties and crash that net!
I don't put much faith in Purcell. I think we all know what he is.
This is a huge opportunity for Parse and Moller however. Parse gelled with Simmonds and if he has that leadership, whatever it takes to win, mentality and attitude that Wayne has been bringing, this alleged injury to Simmonds will only make the team stronger.
I wonder if Simmonds knows how much he is loved by the fans? Someone should start the "Wayne Simmonds Fan Club". With the possible exception of Doughty, he seems like the most popular Kings player, not only on this board, but with every Kings fan I talk to.
Man I hope he comes back soon. Am I wrong in thinking that the fact that he is going to a Dr., rather than being diagnosed by our trainers, is a bad sign?
