Hey, there's a Home Game Tonight against the Ducks, Dec 12, 7 pm, (apparently)

Latest GDT Ever because I waited until 1pm Gameday for someone else to post it, but no, so here I am being the Shadow Mod once again. What are we paying these guys for, huh? Samkow I understand his role as attack dog. He's spanked me more times than a french hooker. But DSL? What does he really do around here besides "sticky" things? And Macster -he went and got married. Totally ruined now.

<Obligatory CBJ Logo Here>

(I mean, don't we all know what it looks like by now? Check your fridge magnet or tattoo if you've forgotten)
v.

<Obligatory Quack Foot Logo Here>
(Hard to believe they think a gold daffy foot is better than the duck goalie mask. We should kick their ass just for that.)

<Obligatory Pic of Nationwide Arena Here>

Obligatory Posting of the lines, blah blah blah,
(as if Hitch keeps his lines together)

Game Overview from some nut job in Toronto

Obligatory Quote from Puck-Rakers:
"Only 4 players showed up for yesterday's Optional Skate."

"The Big Story: The Return of Freddie Modin"
(Which you would have expected would earn more excitement from HF, maybe a Modin themed GDT or something, but no. How many fans will die holding their breath everytime he gets checked?)

Just Win Baby!
(in regulation please)

I don't see a mod online right now, so I'll just sticky it myself using my "Shadow Mod Secret Powers."

Every time I bring it up, everyone says "hey you can make one yourself, jeez"

Anywho, prediction: SOMEBODY wins. One team will deserve it more than the other. Goals will be scored.

Insightful and Informative. Quite likely one of the best posts in the GDT so far.

...and my theory is that GDTs are like the Jackets season: they slowly sink to a new low until someone steps forward and says, "I'll Carry the Flag."

Today's GDT is that new low.

This game is critical.
Hainsey with 6.
Heavy.
Weighty.
Did/didn't buy in.
Got into a track meet.
What the hell is "let the puck do the work"?
Everybody drink.

And excellent post completely in keeping with our "Lame GDT" theme.

Is that "paid" or "actual"?

I'm going with "paid" .

Without Selanne, they are missing a second scoring threat after the first line. If we can hold that first line to less than four goals, consider the game a success no matter what the score is.

I'm going... Not feeling a win tonight because it's one of those "free crap promo days".
Hopefully they keep me entertained through at least the 2nd period, that will be going further than they normally do.

The Ducks are due. We lose 3-2 in the 18th round of the shootout 1-0.

I would ask and request for 16,000 since its a Saturday night, no football conflicts, and the weather isnt too bad. Colleges are done with finals etc. But I think that might be a bit too much. I will be happy with at least 15,000. Anything less will tick me off.

Obligatory Parody Prediction:
Jackets win 33-0. After being crucified on these boards for his numerous injuries, Freddy Modin rises from the dead and scores all 33 goals, which begins a miraculous undefeated streak as he leads the CBJ to the Holy Grail of hockey, Lord Stanley's Cup.

I'm tired of losing. At this point I hope we make it to OT so we get a point tonight. But in reality we'll probably win this game 5-2, just because I've finally lost my optimism.

Say what you will about the attendance but I can't find two tickets on ticketmaster for the $20, or the $25 range. Seems like a good sign for having a decent turnout.

I'll go with 14,200. I think Christmas parties are in full swing, so light interest especially with the team's play, or lack of, lately. We had to move my daughters birthday party up earlier today because noone wanted to use our tickets so we decided to go versus eating them.

I've noticed over the last 2 or 3 games that the puck has started doing more of the work. Let's hope the trend continues so the Jackets can take it a little easier.

I was thinking about this the other day. Does anyone know if the pucks are unionized? Because if they are, perhaps ours are participating in a work slowdown to demonstrate against unfair & unsafe working conditions.

I feel like if you replaced the word puck with "ref," that would be a realistic situation. Those sh*theads!

Also, if "Our best players have got to be our best players" and yet they are not being our best players, were they ever really our best players to start with? Or were they masquerading as our best players, while some lesser players were, in fact, really our best players all along?

And does a player's status as "Best" change over time? If it does, couldn't we be in a real pickle, if we are trying to get a "best" player to be "best" when he actually ceased being "best" several weeks ago?

I'm going to stop now and go do something else before my head explodes.

Oh, quick question: Are they still doing the student ID 15 buck tickets? 2 tickets per ID?
