If you can trade me a cheaper top 6 forward for Versteeg, I'd appreciate it.

Dallas is not going to be close to the cap after losing out on an UFA. So, with a full roster, Dallas has $6,765,002 in cap space. I'm willing to take on salary for a cap strapped team, but do not PM me unless it's a clear win for Dallas (picks/prospects included). Otherwise, I'll happily carry the space to the 2011 trade deadline.

Also, Colin White remains on the trading block, as he's jamming up my defense prospects.
The only unrealistic thing I see is that the contract runs out when he's 33. In my mind he would either want something a little bit shorter term so he can cash in one more time, or something longer term so he finishes his career in jersy.

Very impressed with the signing though, it's great for the Devils.

I agree it is most definitely in the realm of possibility, and expect it to happen. However, don't think just because he is a RFA that would make a difference. There are plenty of teams that would be stupid not to toss a 5 year 7 mill+ OS his way. He is one of the elite players in the league, I'd take him for Joe straight up, although that is partially because of age. If my team couldn't draft, I'd be considering offer sheets every year. It'll look like a steal for the team losing the player if you suck, but if you can't draft develop anyway, what difference does it make.

*off to check out Washington's cap situation*

I believe this is called the 'Brian Burke formula'

I'm gonna check Wash's cap too... I dont think their over, but they have about 34M tied up in just 5 players (Green, Phaneuf, Poti, Ovie, Kovie)

Works out to 1.4375 per player, not including Backstrom, Kuba, Knuble, Laich, and Clark all of whom make 2 million or more.

A mess of Epic Proportions

I will solve this mess.

Not to be a troll, or to mess this up or anything, but I think it's kind of fun that I got myself into this mess. I'll be able to feel like Chicago's new GM, and I think I will be able to work something out...

You'll see.

hey, my roster is updated with the right player salaries and stuff, I've just got to figure out what prospects will be able to play in the NHL, and the total salaries.

BTW

I will match any offer sheet. That's tright,I'm going Phil Kessel on you.

You want Backstrom, you must acquire his rights from me.

Until I hit 62.7 MIL, my roster is completely fine.

Also, I won't be able to figure out my RFA's until 4G gets on... I PM'd him about 5-6 hours ago.

So when you match it and are over the cap with 14 players (or at least very close to it), what will you do?

O... you'll see.

Actually, I won't match if the offer is above the 4 1st round picks mark.

We pach everything that is good not named Ovy, Backstrom, Kovy, Green and Phaneuf I guess. I could deal with some of the leftovers, haha.

Anyways... I could have a roster full of AHL'ers, with Ovy,Kovy,Green,Phaneuf,Backstrom and Varlamov and still make the eastern finals.
