After seeing Wash's roster, he has about 50.7M spent in 7F, 6D, 2G

Cap heck, but he's not over...yet

Did you even qualify Backstrom? He might already be an UFA.

I pretty much can't o much more, until 4G's responds to me.

T-Cag, would you be willing to do my RFA's? I mean Toronto has no 1st rounders to sign an offer sheet...

but seriously, it would make the game run a bit more smoothly.

Curious about this, never saw any posts of him being qualified. Which would make him UFA.

I thought I did... anyways, there is no way he's a UFA in any circumstance, it hasn't been 15 days since FA started

What? If you didn't qualify him, he's an UFA on July 1st. That was technically yesterday.

Did you make a contract offer to GGGG before tonight?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a qualifying offer when a GM first offers a contract to an RFA? and if he does, even if the player rejects, he has another 15 days to negotiate?

T Cage- don't you remember me sending you an offer yesterday for Backstrom thinking you were eastern RFA's? I then immediately sent that to 4G's, shouldn't that count as my Qualifying offer?

The Hurricanes have a signing to announce.

Th 'Canes have signed goaltender Steve Valiquette to a 2 year contract that will pay him $650,000 for each of those two seasons. The Hurricanes organization feels he is the perfect fit backing up Cam Ward and welcome him to the team.

A qualifying offer is the minimum offer you need to make to a player to retain his rights.

if you make it, he's an RFA and you get right-to-match or compensation if anyone else signs him.

if you don't, the RFAs become UFAs and you can negotiate with them, but so can everyone else and you get no right to match or compensation.

No and No.

Yesterday was "July 1st". Based on what you just said, you didn't qualify him. Obviously this is up to IR4 and T_Cage, but it sounds like Backstrom is an UFA.

I did send an offer to T-Cage yesterday, at first thinking he was the eastern conference RFA agent. Even if I sent it to the wrong person, it should still count.

He did send me a PM about his RFAs.... I sent him to 4G since i was only doing West RFAs.

I didnt keep the PM, so i dont know who he qualified or didn't, but i'm almost certain it was before UFA started.

Just read up that UFA signing announced started at 8:00 yesterday.

I sent T-Cage a PM anywhere between 3-6 yesterday.

I'm pretty sure he remembers, and he could confirm us going back and forth about it.
