Lines when MAP and Comrie come back?

Yes the guy who rails against the starting of threads is starting a thread.

I was just looking at the oilers roster and trying to put the pieces of the puzzle when Comrie and MAP comes back(I don't have Pisani on the list because based upon something I have heard 4th hand--I think Pisani might be done for the year)

last game here were the lines
Penner-Gagner-Brule
Jacques-Horcoff-O'Sullivan
Moreau-Cogliano-Potulny
Stone-Stortini-Nilsson

When Comrie gets back(could be awhile) I figure he will get slipped into the the spot where Potulny is(I like potulny and hope he stays) and when MAP comes back I think he will slip into where Nilsson is.

Or POS slips back to the 3rd line with Comrie sliding in there.

I think the Stone-Stortini combo is working well and some people might not like the idea of moving NIlsson who can score when he is motivated.

My thinking is--the oilers. Depending where they are in the standing might chance it(if they can not trade him) and send Nilsson down--hoping someone claims him and frees up 2million from next year,

I don't see a Stone, Stortini and JFJ line becuase that puts all the grit on one line

This is not about lines for next year--but just when the oilers get the bodies back--on the back end it is easy

but up front figuring out where the bodies go gets a little harder

Pouliot gets sent down.
Comrie replaces Potulny.

I want a "don't fix what's not broken" line up...Struds/Staois included. MAP is waiver material IMO and Comrie...well, I'm sure he doesn't mind a few days/games off.

I'm sure we'll get another injury or two to clarify the situation.

Penner - Gagner - Brule
Comrie - Horcoff - O'Sullivan
Moreau - Cogliano - Jacques
Stone - Stortini - Nilsson

Potulny and Pouliot warming the press box.

Really? So you're for keeping Strudwick in the line-up over Denis freaking Grebeshkov because we're winning games?

As if Grebs over Strudwick could only make us anything but better...

Not if it's a 2 week conditioning stint. Then he's called up, and I'm sure whenever that is, somebody else will probly be injured.

it is easy to say don't fix what aint broken now--

but of the 5 clubs the oilers just beat--how many are in the playoffs right now or are considered powerhouses?

Blues are 14/15 in the west
Bolts are 10/15 in the east
Panthers are 11/15 in the east
Dallas and Detroit are shells of Their formerselves at 8-9 in the west

This. Comrie and POS have shown chemistry and POS needs all the help he can get. Pouliot deserves nothing over those already in the line-up.

Pouliot gets sent on a conditioning stint and Comrie replaces Potulny. After the stint I believe the Oilers have the roster space to have both Potulny and Pouliot in the PB waiting for an (inevitable) injury, or a guy like Nilsson starting to struggle (inevitable too imo).

If for some reason they are forced to decide between waiving Pouliot or Potulny to the minors I think that depends on how well Pouliot does in the minors. I doubt either would get claimed.

Penner - Gagner - Brule
Stone - Comrie - O'Sullivan
Moreau - Horcoff - Pouliot/Stortini
Jacques - Coglaino - Nilsson

with Renney and Flemming doing the line matches, we could use a dedicated checking line. Im assuming by this time, probably a month away, that the steam will have died down with the 4th line so I don't feel bad breaking them up .

He deserves a chance under the new coaching staff. Just look at how a new coach has helped Jacques, Stone and Brule become legit NHL players.

I think there is still something which could be found in Pouliot, and it's worth giving him a look.

MAP deserves a shot. The guy I am wondering about is Comrie. Is he not terrible defensively? I mean he is good offensively, but you're team is doing great right now. The only guy I would probably insert until a bad streak, would be Grebeshkov.

He's mediocre defensively.

Big deal. Horcoff-O'Sullivan line is bleeding goals for whatever reason anyway, Jacques and Nilsson aren't the cure to get them going offensively 5v5. Comrie might be.

They need someone who can control the puck. Comrie could do that, maybe MAP. Hemsky would look beautiful there right now.

I think I like these lines the best out of what people have suggested. Not likely to happen though I don't think. These lines just make too much sense . Second line has proven chemistry albeit from the preseason. Also, Cogliano with Nilsson is a no-brainer, I've commented before on these boards about the chemistry those two have and I really think that putting them together could be the thing that sparks Cogs offensively.

IMTO (t standing for terrible), they ought to trade Cogliano and O'sullivan...since the team will only get marginally worse without them...and those players are theoretically worth something.

penner-gagner-brule
jacques-horcoff-potulny
nilsson-comrie-stone
moreau-stortini-pouliot

what could you get for sully, cogs and maybe one of the d....heatley?

I would only welcome Comrie back because the rest of the team is playing very well at the moment. Potulny is playing better than MAP ever did at this level thus far. Send MAP to the AHL please and thank you.
