In a team struggling for scoring, let's send down an offensive minded player.
It does make complete sense if you think about it.
Was Parenteau scoring?
Larry Brooks about Parenteau this morning
Quote:
Though the Rangers can fit Dubinsky under the cap and onto the roster without making a corresponding personnel move, the team will assuredly dispatch a forward to the AHL Wolf Pack. Dubinsky's return would give the team three spare forwards.
P.A. Parenteau, who last night likely was auditioning to keep his job, is the prime candidate to go. Parenteau has not scored a goal in 12 games since his Nov. 14 recall from Hartford despite a fair amount of time on the second power play unit. That time presumably will fall to Dubinsky.
He hasnt done anything or even created anything in the past 5-6 games....they gave him a chance.
This... Parenteau was given an opportunity to show that he should stick with the team but he's slowed down the past few weeks.
The fact that Lisin was originally pencilled in to play yesterday but was replaced with PAP was probably for PAP to have one last chance to prove he belongs before Dubi comes back.
And as much as I'd like to waive Voros, I think they actually need him to stick around a bit because Brashear is injured all the time. That's what happens when you sign a 37-year-old enforcer...
Good thing is, that symbols the near return of Dubi.
Bad thing is, we just sent down one of the few players with any kind of offensive skill on the Roster besides Gabs and Vinny.
What good is offensive skill if you can't do anything with it?

He hasn't been given the ice time to show himself. We've seen glimpses. Do you not recall his first goal on his very first game? Also, the nifty behind the back pass he made that propelled Gilroy's breakaway?

Oh boy. 2 plays. Let's sign him to a 5M contract now.
Give me a break. He was given ample opportunity and never did squat with it. He is not a NHL player as most knowledgeable fans know.

Yes he has. 16, 17, 18 minutes per game and PP time when Drury was out.
His ice time was reduced after the Pittsburgh game at home when he was -3, but last night he was given more ice time. PAP was given an ample opportunity to show what he can do.

Agreed. He got a fair chance. He has never looked the same since Renney cut him last pre-season despite being the best player in camp. In my opinion, his issue is his confidence.
