Has anyone other than WFAN given anything into contract extension talks?

They were rumoring 3 years, 70M for Doc.

Would be an absolute coup for the Phillies if that was the deal.

The person spoke Monday on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because the teams had not made any announcement. Philadelphia could give up pitchers J.A. Happ(notes), Joe Blanton(notes) and outfielder Dominic Brown as part of a deal, the person said.

Those three players also took physicals in Philadelphia on Monday.

Congrats on landing the best pitcher in baseball.

I'm not even kidding. The Jays let this guy down so many times, and I seen this coming years ago. I cannot and don't blame Doc for wanting out.

He is going to win you guys another Series.

Sincerely,
New Phillies Fan

Stark says its 3 years, 60 M with a vesting option for another year or two.

Horrible deal if true:

Quote:
Once the extension is complete, the Phillies are expected send three prospects to Toronto. A source identified those prospects as Drabek, outfielder Michael Taylor and catcher Travis D’Arnaud. The Blue Jays would also get a prospect from Seattle, possibly Canadian pitcher Phillippe Aumont. The Phillies could also end up with a prospect from Seattle.

Doubt that deal is true. I think we all need to go to bed and wait till something is official so many players have been rumored.

Didn't the Phils reject the Blue Jays deal last year because they wanted to keep Drabek?

Frankly, the thing that makes the most sense to me is Blanton or Happ going to Seattle. The Mariners are being made out as the vastly superior winners of this trade, when they were only brought in out of necessity. It won't go down like that.

Im confused. I was looking things up and it said we traded pretty much Lee for Halladay and us throwing in a few prospects. Is that true or nothing is official yet?

There is a deal in place for Halladay and it appears Lee is involved, but nothing has been confirmed. There's all sort of names being thrown around now.

I heard it was Howard, Lee, and Victorino for Luke Schenn and The Monster. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure I just heard that on the radio.

If we could get Lee AND Halladay on this team it would be totally amazing. Pitching wins titles.

(yes I'm a Pens fan but I live near Philly and I've adopted the Phillies cuz the Pirates have sucked for almost 20 years and will probably suck for another 20 so there)

**** that. Keep Halladay. I don't get how the Jays have any leverage in this situation as the Phillies have everything in their favor. Halladay has a NTC and he clearly wants to be traded to Philadelphia, with that in mind Halladay can block any other trade the Jays try to make involving him which would force the Jays to accept less from the Phillies then they would want if they want to get anything at all for Halladay and he signs with us next off-season.

Drabek can suck my balls. Bla bla bla prospects. Shut the **** up *******. Doc Halladay is going to destroy every unfortunate soul that steps into the box.

Morrow may be coming to Philly if we deal Drabek. Morrow was a good young injury replacement closer last year and also may be a starter. Waiting till we get the full assortment/official trade before I judge this.
