once again, for who was listening to his show, what happened exactly? Did he say it was a farce? Is he leaving?

From what I've heard, CHOM 97.7 has grabbed him, he wasn't necessarily "fired" from Team 990.

Apparently he's also a good joe in real life.

who knows, his plate may have become too full and there's more cash in tv. If he was going to leave, Melnick could have constructed a storyline to have some fun with. Maybe the whole thing was a prank dreamed up over shots at the Christmas party.

He's not to my taste, but he has enough charisma to make a living in the business and if he's leaving, I'm sure he'll be fine. I don't care for him on radio, the schtick of stirring the pot is too obvious to be funny, but that's just me.

He knows hockey, but people like his clown side, like it or not. And that side can be replaced easily. Look in the french medias: they are all clowns (except Dubé).

Pretty easy to find in the world of hockey.

Stock is awesome.

Marinaro, on the other hand, is garbage. Stock and Picard are pretty much the only hosts that I care about on the Team 990.

If he is leaving it's bad for the Team 990 because he is a draw I guess...but other than that no big deal. I find it very hard to listen to him because he has so much trouble speaking. Even when he is on the CBC..it's like he can't go 10 sec without stuttering, very irritating. The only thing I will miss is his insider knowledge from time to time.

1-3 is not really where radio makes their $, I doubt that it matters much in the big picture. It's kind of the slot were guys breaking in get broken in.

My friend just told me he heard Stock say it's his last episode today as he wants to focus more on family.

Maybe the rumor was true after all

Hahaha. He just took a shot at the people from HF saying they hide behind their fake usernames and muppet profile pictures.

HF board posters give them most of their analysis work for free, and clue them into hot topics. Besides PJ, the dopes there don't know much about hockey, lots of posters here are a lot smarter than they are.

So you know where a lot of "media" go for their "sources" on the rumors they parrot

Sure, it's a nice feedback loop ratings wise. Someone posts it on HFboards, media hack mentions it on radio, more people check out HFboard discussion, and lots of posts on discussion board make media guy seem more legit. A bunch have figured this out I'm sure, they're probably posting rumour topics here themselves, I know I would be if I was a media guy trying to make a name for myself. Hockey knowledge isn't important in media, it's ability to draw attention & ratings to yourself, HFboard is a great tool for that, added bonus is you can find high quality hockey analysis here and plagerize it.
