Karma, remember when a few Sens fans were happy Markov got hurt for the Habs.

Good test for CC will be to keep us .500 like JM has done with the Habs

Kovalev played his best hockey in MTL when Koivu was out of the lineup. Could happen again, who knows?

The Habs are actually one game under .500 but I agree that it will be a big test for Clouston.

This sucks, but on the bright side two birds will be knocked out with one stone since his back will get some much needed resting time too.

facts are unimportant.

This news really sucks. Hopefully murray has enough incentive now to pull the trigger on a filatov trade. Filatov would have to be retarded not to return to NA for a chance to play between michalek and alfie.

If Spezza is indeed gone for up to 8 weeks then there is a good chance that he doesn't play before the olympic break, which could mean his next game is not until the 2nd of March vs the Rangers. Although probably not a bad thing since he could probably use the extra 2 weeks to make sure that he is fully ready to come back

Close to .500, 1W difference and Markov is still out.

Let's hope CC can do the same keeping our team around .500 like JM.

Put Winchester up with Alfie and Michalek and this team does not miss a beat.

I actually agree with this idea. Winchester's growth has been very noticeable and although Hennessey will get his shot, I guarantee Hennessey ends up in a 3rd/4th line centre role.

i'd like to see winchester in there as well. A little simplifying of our game may not be a terrible thing.

And the Cogliano/Penner/Smid deal just keeps looking better & better in hindsight.

What can I say? I was dead wrong about that proposed trade. We could REALLY use Cogliano to centre one of our top 2 lines right about now, not to mention how great it would be to have Penner & Smid.

I hate Dany Heatley almost as much as I hate the Leafs right now.

You must have learned a valuable lesson about Karma after that Sens>>>>NHL issue.

Truly a testament to the team Murray has built. Its a shame its nearly impossible to get a dominant #1 D in this league.

If the god like figure known as Muckler hadn't tossed the current Norris trophy winner in the garbage we would probably be a top team.

At least Fuhr is rational and now values so highly what Muckler did not...and Murray does. Unfortunately there isn't one out there for Murray to get. But at least Fuhr realizes how hard it is to even be .500 without one. Just shows how good a team Murray has put together right Fuhr? Hopefully there is a GM that is retarded enough to let a D man of Chara's calibre go soon. I'm sure Murray would be all over that, even if Muckler wasn't/wouldn't

You realize Cogliano can't even get onto the top 2 lines in Edmonton, right? 8 points in 32 games is what we're really missing? I'll give Winchester, Regin, or even Kelly (whose outscoring him) a chance before him.

Funny that Cogliano was supposedly the big piece coming back, but right now he's completely useless. His offense has vanished and he's awful defensively. He's still got age on his side (unlike Cheechoo), but things aren't looking good for him right now.

Would you trade Winchester, Regin or Kelly for Cogliano? I would. The guy is clearly having some kind of slump. I could also bring up the old "change of scenery" cliche.

In any case, this is all extremely hypothetical. Personally, I think a rejuvenated Cogliano could do quite well centering 2 talents like Michalek & Alfredsson. That being said, I've been wrong before as I stated in my earlier post.

I'm not a Colgiano fan and never have been. To me, he's a smaller, less talented version of Vermette. He's not even a good center, as his faceoff percentage this year is 39% and last year was 37%.

He'll probably get paid on his apparent potential this summer too, but I just don't see it. It's hilarious that Oilers fans were saying that he'd score 30 goals this year after the trade was vetoed. Right now, they'd probably be ecstatic if he hit 30 points period.
