yet even not playing up to his potential he is still year in year out one of if not the top scorer on the team.... just cause he could be so much better doesn't mean that he isn't a good player and very useful to the team.

GOOIL. To bad Smytty is not playing, always enjoy watching him play specially against us since he seems to not have much luck. Good team we are up against tonight.

JDD manning the fort again, for what ten straight? Let us hope some rumours that Khabby is injury is real bad are not true. Because as good as JDD is playing, he needs a break sometime. I like DD but does the management have the confidence to throw him in for a few starts?

I expect a fast paced game, hopefully we don't let their skill guys run around. And here is to revenge on Handzus! I would love JFJ to plaster him through the boards tonight. Here is to OIL victory and 6 in a row!

I hear ya! I think LA holds the record for man games lost from a few years ago when Andy Murray was Coach.

I forgot you guys have Grebs. Nice to see him along with Sully and Vish.

Me too. That guy has been on a tear. Keep Parse away from the puck too, he scored an absolute beauty on the Flames a while ago.

It's going to be a tough game.

We'll need a solid return game from Grebs and Penner to keep rolling through opposition.

I like their chances tonight, but there's a real risk that they'll be complacent now that they're back from a wildly successful road trip.

Name ONE team in the NHL that wouldn't LOVE to have Hemsky on their team with that contract.

He's by no means perfect but ffs he is FAR from being one of this team's problems.

Wonder which player gets shelved by the big bad Kings tonight? Will there be any retribution for Handzus? I doubt it.

3) take the puck and enter the zone then lose the puck

on the pp, look for souray, look for souray, look for horcoff.

he never takes the puck off the half boards, walk in, and shoot. kovalchuk and ovechkin always try to shoot and hemsky needs to look to shoot on the pp instead of looking to the point. he's too predictable
yeah, hes fairly predictable. its also the structure the coaches put in that dictates the predictability. having Souray is a direct relationship to his predictability. part of his predictability 5-on-5 is having a Penner for two season who played like his diaper was filled with a huge pile of poop and Half-a-Horcoff. "the coach doesnt like me " F-off Lardo and play for your teammates.

that being said, id take Hemsky over Gagner, the "golden boy", any day of the week - even in his prime. the kids too slow and crappy to even get to a level of consistent predictability. and even with Hemsky's predictability and a crappy team (Spare me the talk about the winning streak - this team still is below average) - he was still a point per game player.

people are absolute whiny turds on here. if the team wouldnt have this win streak, Hemsky wouldnt even be in the conversation and everyone would be focusing on a different character assassination / purging to get Taylor Hall or Seguin.

talk about predictable.

Waaaaaaaaaaay o/t here, but obviously don't figure that my querie is due its own thread.

I know this was meant to be Rod Phillips' last season. I was in Australia for the month of November, so I sure didn't get much media coverage of the Oilers. Just before I left, Rod sat out a game due to illness. I've since returned for 2 weeks now, and I hear Stauffer doing p/b/p each game.

What gives? Is Rod done? If so, why before the end of the season? Buhler? Buhler?

The Oilers are usually awful when returning from a road trip. Let's see if that changes tonight.

Hoping the team continues to play physical. It has been too long since a team has come in for the second game in two nights and the Oilers have made them feel it.

The Kings are also playing their second game in two nights. This should be interesting.
