yes and thank God for you that both former Oils Smyth & Stoll are out too...it wouldve been a bloodbath instead of a close game

what Hemsky would have done to us pales in comparison to what Smyth & Stoll would do to EDM

just be happy, and enjoy the game.

You completely missed the point.

It had nothing to do with what injured players would light which team up if they were in fact playing. But for the record, Smyth has been horrible at garnering points against Edmonton since he was traded. Thank god... it'd be a twisting motion in the still deep wound.

He's highlighting the fact that the last time our teams met, 'Zues boarded Hemsky and sent him out for the rest of the season.

IMO, nothing will come of this as the Oilers are not a team that has been very good at obtaining a pound of flesh over the years. It may be different this year with some bigger more willing bodies in the lineup, but I would frankly be surprised... pleasantly mind you.

If anyone so much as takes a run at Handzus tonight, I fully expect that person to be decapitated...courtesy of Greene, JJ, or OD.

of course i understood what he meant, point being, him being sad ndt all, he should lighten up because it could have been much much worse...get it?

and don't compare the Smyth of Colorado with the Smyth of the Kings...hopefully an eventual meeting vs Edm with him in the line up will show you how wrong you are.

This is a team, regardless of injuries, we need and should be able to beat. I'm about 50/50 on this right now, though. The Oil aren't going to welcome Handzus kindly and have been playing a lot better hockey since we last saw them. It's not going to be easy.

I don't like to make predictions about the Kings winning, because I think it's a jinx, but I say 3-2 Kings.

Then why make predictions? Or why go reverse jinx and predict they lose?

By that score, only 3 Kings can get hat tricks...I predict 4 hat tricks, so at least 12 goals. Easy tap-in for Purcell.

13-1 Kings.

I hope Murray doesn't botch the lines.

I would like to see:

Moller-Kopitar-Williams
Frolov-Richardson-Brown
Parse-Zus-Purcell
Harrold or Ivanans-Elkins-Rotating RW

Dress Drewiske!

Hemsky is out?

What happened?

Maybe the announcers will let us know?

We can only hope they tell us.

I fully expect someone to take a run at Zues. Hopefully Ivanans lets his killer instinct out of it's cage.

Back to back games, and 5th game in 7 nights for the Kings.

Oilers are hot and coming off 3 days of rest.

I don't expect us to win this one.

3-1 Oil.

I think it's gonna be a steam roll of a win by the kings and I predict that everyone suiting up will get a hat trick including the back-up goalie, just cuz we can, 60-1 KINGS!!!

Well, Frolov has been playing great and none of it seems to effect Kopitar in the slightest. Maybe Moller can help. I feel like Fro-Richie-Brown is actually the best scoring line we can ice considering all the injuries and the way Kopi and Willie have been playing.

We definitely need a better game out of Parse tonight.

Also, rotating a RW with Elkins might help since he had no chance to practice with the team. Hopefully it will tell Murray by the 2nd period what kind of player Elkins is and if there is any immediate chemistry he has with someone to milk the rest of the game. Not to mention having 7 defenseman will help in a back-to-back and give another better option than Jones on the PK.

Would not be surprised to see Edmonton come out hard due to the Handzus hit: especially Moreau. Will be interesting to see how the Kings respond.

OT: Anyobe see the beat-down Carcillo put on Adams tonight? I know it's only Adams but man the Kings could use some Carcillo.

I'm curious to see what he does... Stoll is out now so lacking a pt man on PP1. what does he do here? Also Zus is 2nd line PP center so.. we might in fact see line one stick together and line 2 stick together for the PP... I have been advocating this...
either way, whatever happens at the beginning i do believe it will change throughout the game... Should be interesting

If Ivanans is in the line up and he doesn't smash the skull of anyone that takes a run at any King, I will no longer advocate we waive or trade him, but to kill him.

Games like tonight is his sole purpose for existing...and yes, I do believe the Oilers will come to play dirty.

Stortini likes to run at players because he actually has the ability to...Ivanans can't take a run at anyone because he is useless...That said, i do believe the two will fight tonight

Hey, I'm sure you guys would be just as cool about it if Kopitar had been knocked out for the season instead of Hemsky.

Hey, I'm sure you realize Hemsky had been having issues before that and Handzus' push is not the sole reason he's out for the season.
