With Hemsky, the play dies more often than not this year...at least from a visual standpoint. Can't say statistically but we weren't that great before anyway.

This game is one of those that shows why we still need Khabbi [unless we decide to tank].

And what did I say about don't fix what's not broken
Wonder how Struds would fare in place of Grebs?

Teams almost always lose the first home game after a long road trip. No surprise here.

But O'Sullivan gives him the runs. And he was wearing his good suit.

Struds is a turtle out there, but this team REALLY needs Grebs to improve. Screw offense. Just play good solid Smid type D.

I was nervous every shift Grebs was out there. Gilbert had me doing the same for a bit as well.

Strudwick doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with many players but at least he tries to make the simple, smart play when he acquires the puck. Watching Grebeshkov is downright embarrassing. The panic level is off the charts.

Right....because playing 3 lines was so obviously the right way to go....what with the win and all....oh wait.....uhhhhhmmmm yeah.

The post game comments should be focused completely on the fact that they need to get their heads out of their ***** on the PP, and they need to do it now.
Like many of the games last year, special teams destroyed them. The only difference is this year (for some reason) the Oilers are one of the least penalized teams in the league.

If they had any kind of PP whatsoever, they win this game. Lord knows how they got that 13th ranking.

Yup and how many hits from behind were missed? Trips? And that Horcoff call was retarded

I hate complaining about the refs but I despise the way theyve been officiating our games this season (and most other teams games as well)

Hemsky might frustrate some of you guys, but he is our best player at gaining the zone on the PP with control. In his absence, we need to get Visnovsky on the 1st unit, because he is the only other player on the team that can skate it into the zone with success.

Also I have no idea why he matched Horcoff and Penner up
Are you talking about the 4 on 4? I don't know why he doesn't have Penner with Brule together 4 on 4. They are the duo that needs to stick together.

Thanks for that, I asked in the GDT. It feels as though it has been longer. Or wait...we're almost in 2010! So ya, that sounds about right...close to 2 years.

I don't understand why the 4th line was benched for so long. They said he benched them in the 2nd and most of the 3rd.

No way are the Kings are the best team in the West, I don't care what their record says.

They are lucky that Penner didn't get 2 or 3 goals tonight.

Our PP has to be way better though.

Not the best in the west?.....huh, last time i checked which was about 5 minutes ago our 22 wins gives us the most pts and 1st seed....

Not too mention we r missing 3 of our top 6 forwards......not too bad for a back to back game....

benching POS is the way to go - no matter what line he was on - if you look at his TOI compared to when we've scored our goals in the last 5 "come backs" they always occur when HIS ice time is limited

POS can fall off a cliff and I wouldnt bat an eye

They played 1/2 a game and that is why they lost. That and their PP sucked and Penner couldn't will one in tonight.

No I was talking about the PP

He went with Nilsson Horcoff Penner. Penner had been playing so well with Gagner and Brule. I would have just kept him with those guys for the PP

Call me when Kopitar is iced for the season and you have to play your back up for a month straight.

The injury excuse is not going to get you much sympathy here.

the Oilers PP is disgusting... how would it have helped?
blaming the refs is a cop-out IMO

You won't get very far on this board by bringing up the injury excuse...
