Kyle Turris

Highest drafted Jr. A player in history, but he has seemed to really cool off over the last year and a half.

Would teams still pay a high price to get him? Would you? I'm interested to hear some conversation on him.

Way too early to give up on him

phoenix rushed him, imo. could have well spent a year longer in the juniors, either the WHL or continued in the BHCL and gone on to play in the NCAA for an additional year.

As a sabres fan I would give up one of Gerbe, Grags or Brennan.

I'd say his value is extremely high.

The Canucks would have interest.

Probably willing to give up either their 1st + 2nd or C. Schnieder + 3rd.

Oilers would probably give up a lot to get him. He could play on a line with Brule, and it could be called the players that were cast off far to early line.

Think we'd be willing to give up something like O'Sullivan or Cogs + a first? Would that be enough to acquire him?

Penner-Gagner-Brule
MPS-Turris-Eberle <<<--- best rookie line... EVER.
JFJ-Horcoff-Nilson
Stone-Pouliot/Poltuny-Stortini

Not bad, if you ask me.... and I left Cogs/O'Sullivan out of the line-up... opps.

I don't think Kaberle has enough time left on his contract for this trade to be worth it.

I expect to see Turris playing on someone's first line within the next 3 years and looking great at the same time.

I wonder if Kaberle will even let Toronto trade him during the last year of his contract... if he doesn't I'll actually have to feel bad for the Leafs fans for the first time ever.

It's not Burke's fault or the fan's fault that a previous GM decided to let him have a NTC in his contract.

Wonder how much he'll fetch when he goes UFA?

Could see him playing in Anaheim or Phoenix.... Maybe even Edmonton

It would be absolutely ridiculous for the Coyotes to trade him now. Just absurd.

WTF is with maple leaf fans proposing Kaberle for every discussed player in the world?

It is quite annoying.

Turris' value s/b very high still. He has BIG talent. If he were involved in a trade I expect he would be the key player in a trade where Phoenix is landing a top 3 (high priced) forward.

The Coyotes are playing well, and feel no urgency to deal this player before they know what they have on their hands.

I won't get into a pissing match with Leafs' fans over value but right now the Coyotes need more offensive forwards than they do young d-men. Their prospect pool has actually taken a bit of a flip over the past few years and now might be considered stronger on the back end.

Some people take a bit of time to develop...Turris is doing that and will be a good NHLer some day. Just going to take some time which the Coyotes now have.

He gets sick in NHL 10. He's got A potential all around. I simmed 2 seasons and he goes up to 89 overall, definitely keep him.

That's something a mod could say before closing the thread.

Phoenix has a bunch of prospects which are still developing and Turris is going to be their first line center a few years from now. Why would they screw that up?

That was a rhetorical question.

I agree with this. Based on his development in the video game, the Phoenix Coyotes should definitely keep him.

Can you imagine how frikkin' awesome Pavel Brendl would have been and would still be if the Rangers hadn't given up on him based on his play in NHL 2001??

That's nothing compared to Dany Syvret in NHL 2006! If you win the face off and pass it back to him he can rush past 9/10 defenders in the entire league and it's your goal if you've got the hands. In the first season he's got the stamina to do it 5 times before getting too tired to get past the other team's defenders.

If you've got line-changes and stamina turned off... well it's a never ending string of goals. With 20 minute periods on you can score so many goals that his +/- will go to below -200 because it goes over the game's cap. After a few games his points will also reset.

But yeah... Pavel Brendle was supposed to be can't miss. I was all over him before he was drafted and I was shaking my head when he didn't make a huge splash into the NHL as an 18-year old... he's in the KHL playing decently now, I believe.
