This kind of observation is so skewed. Lapierre is having a terrible terrible season far. Taking a dozen of games to extrapolate and make conclusions is just stupid.

The Montreal Canadiens are proud to select from the Windsor Spitfires, Taylor Hall!

What am I saying? We could have the 2nd overall pick and we'd still select an American defense man playing the NCAA..

i dont know about you but our defense has been great the past 6-8 games. might i remind u killing 32 penalties in a row? Our offense is the problem. We lack creativity and we re again a one line team. Hope when gio comes back it ll change

cammy pleks akos
skos gomez gio
patches metro moen
pouliot lappy dago/laraque/pyatt

not to shabby of a lineup

gomez needs a fast winger who can get a fast shot off...

two things i noticed about gomez: extremely fast entering the zone but does not seem to set up too great behind the net or use his body against the boards like koivu or pleks did/do...therefore it seems to me although gomez will quickly get rid of the puck albeit a good pass but doesn't seem to the have the patience or the feistiness to go to the corners to set up a play

that could be me but i noticed those the most

thats why i think the egg line was perfect because gio was that fast winger who did a lotta dirty work and could get a good shot off while entering the zone with gomer while elias would use his body to do board work etc and protect the puck and put it home

basically i believe its best to have two snipers with gomez and not another playmaker

Martin+Lemaire+Devils= ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZ and ZZZZZZZZZZ

This wasn't hockey.

P.S. O'byrne is just brutal. Refs had to close their eyes often because I think he could have been penalized on every single of his shifts.

I'm not generally one to bash players, but I have to agree somewhat with the Gomez bashers. This guy is useless. For the amount of money he's paid he should at least put some kind of a second effort. The only time I noticed him this game was when they put the camera directly on him as he was skating to the bench during a stoppage in play.
Does anyone know if there is a team that is far enough below the cap to take him on a trade? I'd try for an eighth round pick or a bag of pucks. Throw in a couple water bottles and you can have D'agostini as well.

EDIT: although he may have done something during the times I fell asleep.

Like you said, it's an observation. No conclusions were drawn. Y'all can do that for yourselves.

Interesting. And Cammalleri has taken off more with Plekanec.

we already have the "Gomez isn't paid to score goals" excuse.

next, Gomez isn't paid to make his linemates better.

So basically, Gomez doesn't make players around him better, rather, he needs a very specific kind of linemate to succeed.

I could have told you that before the trade, and you're all slowly coming to realize it. I sure hope Gionta ends up saving Gomez's bacon when he gets back.

But we know how you feel about Gomez. Doesn't need to be a genius to read between the lines there...

So I guess the D'Ago+Gomez experiment failed for you guys, after one game?

Played hockey tonight so I missed the game, I know we lost but was it a well fought effort or was it pathetic?

I just remembered tonight why I hate the NJ Devils.

The most boring team in the NHL! They should do like in the NBA and call for illegal defense... this kind if hockey just kills the game.

For **** sakes, it was a tie game in the 3rd period and I couldn't even focus on the stupid game. How can we tolerate this kind of behavior on ice?

Oh and BTW:
Cammy:Home: 14 goals Road: 4 goals.
I like Cammalleri but I'm starting to think that he's a homer.

He's invisible in most of the road games. Quite disappointing.

Think about the sheer dumb luck that was involved on the 1st devils goal. It bouced of his glove, then off the post and was directed into the net by his skates moving backward. Highly unluckly goal. But I do think price need to work on his glove (second time thats happend).

Atleast the Leafs lost!

fine here is an interesting proposition:

gomez is actually helping us replace mcdonaugh with someone EVEN better:

Cam Fowler or Brandon Gormley or Eric Gudbranson...your pick

nvm Timmins pick

product of likely not getting matchups which are often key when your team is out-sized and out-muscled.
