Oh please. Wade Redden's signing was probably the worst decision I have seen Glen make. His numbers were steadily declining, but Glen decides to give him 6 mil a year. Guess what? They continued to decline.
Rosival is waiver crap in my opinion. He did good on the Rangers via "leeching" off of Jagr. Marc Staal and Del Zotto are better defensemen than either of these two idiots. So is Gilroy, but that hasn't been proven.
A young guy with potential, and who wouldn't come with a 5mil-6mil per year contract. Redden and Rosival have negative value; I don't see how Prucha does, though.

Staal is better. But Rozy was matched up against Sidney Crosbys line for three years, 8 games a year, and played him abotu as effectively as ive ever seen.

I'd expect a player's stats to get cut short when you're on the rise but then Shanahan comes in. Then you have Drury and Gomez coming in the following year. Then the next, Renney let's him play one and gets scratched... I think Sather, with all the signings he made, and Renney slowed Prucha down.

Has Phoenix slowed him down too? hes on pace for 20 points over a whole season.

First, he's not that young, he's 27 and should be entering his prime. And he's on pace for 24 points.
Second, we're talking who is better, correct? Not who has more value in relation to their contract. Redden and Rozsival are BETTER than Petr Prucha.
Glad to have read this thread. I am with the guys who like Prucha because of how he plays. It's amazing to me how many times he gets smashed into the boards, but just gets right back to playing. Maybe it didn't work out in New York, but I think he's found a pretty good situation here. Hopefully Lisin can start to produce for you guys, too...it was always fun to watch him skate.
ive been saying this years, go back and watch his first two years in the league. The majority of his goals were from a perfect pass from jagr at the goal mouth or a rebound in front of the net.
Dont get me wrong, he showed glimpses of being a solid sniper in his first two years, but after his time on the powerplay with jagr was reduced he became a very average player. He wont solve any of our problems, and frankly i wouldnt give up anything more than a 4th for him.
I have nothing against the guy... but without a bonafide player like Jagr, I doubt he'll ever crack 30 again.

That happened countless times during his tenure here as well. The guy is small and easy to knock over, but he never stops and gets back in it, that's for sure.

torts doesnt love him.
hes getting 10 min a game with stifs like brashear and aaron virus
he never plays the pp or the pk so he gets skipped alot on his shifts even when he moves off the stiff line.
he give it his all but he hasnt found any confidence yet but in spurts.
torts tried to make him a 2 way player and in doing so, he lost his offense
even after all that his line is still better than christopher higgins who plays a ton more minutes, with better players and both pp and pk.
I love that we're going to nitpick about Higgins when he was pretty much a throw-in to get rid of Scott Gomez and his contract. I automatically give Higgins a pass usually just because he's what we had to absorb to make room for Gaborik. If we didn't have Higgins, we wouldn't have Gaborik.
And I sure as hell wouldn't want Gomez +Prucha instead of Gaborik + Higgins.

This makes no sense. Higgins was RFA when the Rangers acquired him. If Montreal wanted to just get rid of him, all they had to do was...not sign him to a contract. Higgins, for better or for worse, was considered to be something of value in that trade. If he wasn't, Sather wouldn't have asked for him, nor would he have signed him to a contract.

But even if he turns out to have negative value, and frankly, 1 year at 2.25 mil for a mediocre player isnt that bad, McDonagh for Gomez strill turns out to be an epic win. So whether Higgins is good or not is irrelevant.

Agreed. I just thought it was odd that someone thought we wouldn't have been able to make that trade without taking Higgins. That part just made no sense.
