Also weird: Drew calling Baker "James" all night.

Maybe somebody is on-the-move, or in line for budget cuts.

Why do they keep saying Thornton has 41 assists? He has 39!

Its a step in the right direction.
  • Demers makes a difference with his puck possession and skating with the puck. Nice to see him playing back to form. He really was a help in the exit play.
  • Murray was again a presence.
  • Defense jumping into the play was important to keeping possession.
  • Pavelski had a strong game skating
  • Mitchell had his best game since he came back. He's been playing like crap defensively
  • Also McGinn was on his game on the forecheck
  • Energy lines had a strong game
  • Clowe played a strong game as well both with his fists and posessing the puck on the boards.

i also thought our forwards played some great defensive hockey tonight when called on... i almost thought this was a Ron Wilson sharks team with the boys protecting the net and clearing people for nabby...

also Dougy was great tonight... looked like players were scared to attack his side when he was on the ice...

This has been making me wonder all game. There has to be a reason for it and I'm guessing its to audition either Baker for TV or Maley for radio.

I can only only come up with two likely scenarios:
  • They wanted to see how Baker does on TV with Randy. (Meaning Drew may be on the move and Baker may take his spot)
  • They wanted to give Maley more radio time with Dan to see how he does. (Meaning Baker may be on the move)

We may see some different broadcasting partners next year.

I hope they don't bust up Randy and Drew. That's part of the reason I love watching Sharks hockey.

But you also left out the other option: They're seeing how Baker does and they're going to axe Brodie Brazil.

I thought about that, but in my opinion taking Brodie's role, even though its on TV not radio, would be a big step down.

He has done a fantastic job on the radio side in my opinion and has shown he can be a great color commentator. I can't imagine them moving him to, or him accepting, a position where he asks a few interview questions and nothing more.

Perhaps they're working on a split role type situation where Drew does half the games and Jamie takes the rest, or something like that.

This would help ease the situation that led to Drew leaving a few years ago.

Has anyone noticed that Drew seems to be eating during broadcast? Several times a game now, he'll make a few comments that sound like he's still trying to put down a mouthful of food.

jamie does pretty well in his roll regardless, there isnt much difference between TV and Radio.

I really think the James part was simply because there is a Jamie on the team now and its nothing more than to avoid confusion. I honestly like him more than the current iteration of Drew.

Bakes did a game with JR I think last year or the year before?

Heatley looked good but I think we should get him back with Thornton and try Marleau with Pavs and Clowe again.

I just wanted to add. Having Demers back in the line up seemed to make the team a million times more mobile and dynamic on the transition. Lets see if it keeps up.

Fun game tonight. Closest I sat in the tank too! Row 2!!

Loved sitting next to 210ish section who had the duck horn and starting the "DUCKS SUCK" chant. Great chant, chanted loudly. Pizza chant not so great but funny

I wish they let Douglas fight. I'm glad he got 3rd star.

Also, the guy sitting in 106ish area on the glass with the pronger ducks jersey on? The look on your face said it all buddy hahahaha.

Only cons. 1) Getting out of parking at market and santa clara. Sitting around... for 35-40 minutes was not fun . I guess that's what $3 parking will get you haha.

2) Fans leaving before the game is over, or waiting for the game to be over but don't wait for them to salute us or the stars? You all really don't need to rush out that badly.. don't wear the jerseys at least.
