The Oilers possess an interesting, albeit small advantage if Kovy elects to test free agency: Khabibulan. They were teammates in Kazan during the lock-out and have played together on the RNT. They also share the same agent. Like Horcoff with Hossa, it's possible Khabby could be persuaded to sell Kovy on our city.
Trust me Atlanta looks like they are finally getting it together. Kovy will sign. You can't really include Heatley in your list because h landed Hossa. As for Hossa you guys got assets for him while not necessarily great assets, but Armstrong is defintiely a solid 3rd liner and possibly and 2nd in the future. But I think he will do better as a solid as a role player ala Stone.
Also how is Angelo doing, haven't heard much about him since that trade.
Yes, we're putting things together but whether that's enough to convince Kovy to sign is one thing. Whether he will accept to make less money than Ovechkin or Crosby is another thing. He's awesome, but not 10M$ a year awesome. And if the return is right, I'm not even sure we're a worse team without Kovy. For all the excitement and goals he brings, his +/- is still mediocre and we now have other weapons on offense if he leaves...
Anyway, as far as Esposito goes, he blew his knee again last month, so it looks like the road to the NHL is getting steeper and steeper
