Here's my philosophy, more often than not, once you get a ring, players pretty much put it in cruise control the rest of their careers and it's all about how much money I can get based on my past accomplishments.

Seriously, Drury should be embarrassed. I would've given Hank the C by now. Luongo's captain in Vancouver ain't he? So a goalie can be captain after all

If Drury gets a chance to play, and like usual, does very little, he might join Redden by next game.

Can someone upload this pre-game show somewhere. I didn't get a chance to see it, but I will be able to watch the game. This is getting good.

BOUT ****IN TIME.
This is the path Brind'amor has been taking before he started getting scratched. Interesting parallel except that Rod the Bod is 39.

From Ranger pre-game show: Avery and Lundqvist asked the coaches to leave so they could address the team. I'm not reading anything into them asking Torts leave, but I am actually impressed with the two actually taking some initiative to get this team back on course.

Avery and Lundqvist more than anyone else have been pegged before as selfish, tempermental and rash. But now I'm seeing them as passionate and competitive. I like that they are stepping up. There is obviously a void in that department. Make or break point of the season when you have the soldiers taking over command.

Can't bench Rozsival because that will make him lose value on the trade market.

Kudos to Avery and Lundqvist for taking matters into their own hands and addressing the team.

Thumbs down to Drury, Cally, and Prospal for not taking the same initiative.

a better move would be to strip drury of the c and if he plays give him a few minutes of play . i would scratch drury redden rozy and bring up players for the next 2 games at least for a start . torts is a wussy .

good words from the coach in that interview. I like where his head is at.

Did they show a clip of the Avery/Lundqvist scene or just mention it?

But again, it won't ruin his Christmas so good for him.

Anyone can be the leader, but for official purposes and purposes with the officials, the goalie cannot be or wear the 'c'. If you want to have a discussion with the refs, Luongo cannot participate.

Isn't that sort of thing a Captain does? Not trying to take Drury out or anything, but usually it's the team Captain that calls a players only meeting. Not the goaltender and the agitator.

he wants to, but can't because of the salary cap and waivers and all that hoopla...in a cap free game it would have happened!

Despite any of these Sather rumors, I will still be pulling hard for the Rangers tonight, as always...I still feel that Dolan will keep him around with a loss, after all it took Isiah around 3 awful seasons to lose his job

Tortorella saying things like:

"I wanted to scratch more people but couldn't."
"It's not just about those two players it's about the whole team and how they haven't been playing the way we as a coaching staff want them too."

Stuff like that.

Again though, the AVery/Lundqvist, did they show it or mention it?
