Yeah, bad timing as he was starting to play much better since being benched. We have 3 games now until Neil returns, so that will ease the injury blows a bit.
I'm interested to see how this works out. Although both Spezza and Foligno are valuable, i've found both have had a tendency to overhandle the puck, and maybe try the toe drag type moves a little too often. It'll be interesting to see if the guys will play a more straight ahead team game like last night. Not saying we won't miss those two, just that sometimes I find they get away from the game we a trying to play as a team.

All the injuries suck, but for once we have some decent depth so I'm not too worried. The bottom six have been great all year and will hopefully continue to be. Regin and Winchester both looked surprisingly comfortable in their new top 6 roles which is good to see.
Yeah! Regin played amazing in Foligno's spot last night, so that's set up for a nice 2nd line - Campoli was fantastic subbing in for Regin with Shannon.
Let's wait to see more games... everyone plays amazing against buffalo for some reason
Agreed. I couldn't believe the post game show. So many people using ONE GAME against a tem we always dominate as proof that this team is better without Spezza.
I hope they can keep this up, but one game against Buffalo doesn't mean a whole lot.
NJ (1st overall pt%, last ten: 8-2 )
Min (turning it on after slow start, last ten: 8-2)
Bos (contending team we can't seem to beat, last ten: 6-2-2)
Pit (defending SC champs, last ten: 7-2-1)
Buf (Top of NE and Miller, last ten: 7-3)
I thought the Senators dominated the 1st place team last night. Should have been about 5-1 (Elliott robbed the Sabres a few times). And the best part of it was that all 4 lines were dominant.
Winchester was strong with Alf and MM, and I thought Campoli showed very well up front. Always nice to have flexibility especially when Anton gets hurt about twice a game.
Of course its alwaysa different story when they go on the road
Its going to be a rough couple of months for the Senators, they will make or break the season.
If the team is playing well and Spezza gets injected back into the lineup they have the potential to do some damage heading into the playoffs. If the team can't maintain a .500 pace bye bye playoffs.
